Sooo, per renderings does S. Stadium get a complete demo to allow for the rebuild as pictured? Has to right?

Were people complaining in 1995 when we had the greatest team in CFB history. Why do we worry so much about the Fan experience than the actual product on the field. My prediction is there will be a lot of empty seats in that upper deck as we plow thru another 6-6 season down the line.

Agree to an extent. If we were Natty title contenders we would fill up the stadium if the benches had tacks on them. Comparing the in home viewing experience today vs 1995 is a whole other animal and the stadium comfort and amenities will need to stay ahead in order to attract people. Winning cures everything - but this is also important to compete with the couch and 75” HD multi game view experiences.

I'd also wager that the average age of our most loyal fans is much higher than it was back in the 90s - a function of our program's irrelevance for most if not all the lifetime of anyone under the age of 30. Older fans are typically going to have a lower tolerance for lack of comfort than younger ones - winning/losing aside.

Meh they just want an excuse to kick people out of seats and jack prices up or at the bare minimum keep the prices high. If they wanted to guarantee a crazy crowd and forever keep a real sellout streak they would drop the prices of the tickets 50% and they'd never have to worry about attendance for the next 30 years.

That was 31 year’s ago the upgrades are needed. If you are going to sell alcohol you cannot expect someone to go down 98 rows to a restroom like you do in the South stadium. Everywhere we play the opponent’s stadium facilities are an upgrade from ours . People are complaining to the athletic department I am sure.

WAY easier to watch all the games on TV now.

Meh. I go to watch football not to get up and buy concessions. Put in seat backs if you want and give people more elbow room and it’s fine. Waste of resources.
You’re only fooling yourself if you don’t think it’s not going to improve alcohol sales immensely.

Therefore you have to take a piss a time or two.

Plus not everyone is the same. What about parents with younger kids who need to use the facilities and they are in the 80th row of south stadium and getting up and down can mean missing half of an entire quarter.

South is horrible. North East is just about as bad especially if you get there a little too close to pregame and anthem. You can be stranded on those ramps for 15 minutes.

The place is iconic but damn it needs updated. It can't go another 20-30 years as it sits currently.

Looking at the renders closely i don't like the design of the south side exterior. I think it needs to match the rest of the stadium but I'm sure the renders will be updated accordingly.

Also interesting to see if they're gonna be doing the east and west seats first before completely demolishing the south side.

Man that’s a lot of money and a pretty fancy stadium for a team that struggles to go 6-6. Can we spend the 600 million on NIL and play the games
In a parking lot or cornfield
From what I'm hearing, 2-250M from private donations that I think were already there. The rest will come from bonds. This is a great plan because they will get snatched up fast if tax free. This won't affect nil

The real question in my mind is do they already have the 200-250 million in hand? It seems like they had to scramble to raise the funds to buyout Frost when he was fired. If they do have it then bonding the rest would be no problem for a program that takes in 150 million per year.

This is so simple, just make a ******* giant concourse area with venders for booze and food where you can still see the field and scoreboard and have tons of TV's.

Would t the private donations be money that could have been NIL? I just don’t feel the program is good enough to be spending this kind of money on it?

I'm pretty sure they do. You have to have that commitment to go forward which they didn't 2023

What I worry about is that when we go up to 80,000 capacity in 2028 after going down to 65,000 capacity for 2027, we don't get those 15,000 fans back.

I did hear one Husker media type praise Dannon for being an expert at raising revenue. I definitely believe that the new chair backs in west stadium will have an increased price tag in some form. But the problem is those chair backs are going have the same legroom as flying coach on Frontier airlines.
