Here we go
South stadium was badly in need of a overhaul for all those that have seating there.Sooo, per renderings does S. Stadium get a complete demo to allow for the rebuild as pictured? Has to right?
Agree to an extent. If we were Natty title contenders we would fill up the stadium if the benches had tacks on them. Comparing the in home viewing experience today vs 1995 is a whole other animal and the stadium comfort and amenities will need to stay ahead in order to attract people. Winning cures everything - but this is also important to compete with the couch and 75” HD multi game view experiences. Were people complaining in 1995 when we had the greatest team in CFB history. Why do we worry so much about the Fan experience than the actual product on the field. My prediction is there will be a lot of empty seats in that upper deck as we plow thru another 6-6 season down the line.
I'd also wager that the average age of our most loyal fans is much higher than it was back in the 90s - a function of our program's irrelevance for most if not all the lifetime of anyone under the age of 30. Older fans are typically going to have a lower tolerance for lack of comfort than younger ones - winning/losing aside.Agree to an extent. 200 million is the minimum either way, mandatory maintenance and ADA compliance.Man that’s a lot of money and a pretty fancy stadium for a team that struggles to go 6-6. Can we spend the 600 million on NIL and play the games
In a parking lot or cornfield
That was 31 year’s ago the upgrades are needed. If you are going to sell alcohol you cannot expect someone to go down 98 rows to a restroom like you do in the South stadium. Everywhere we play the opponent’s stadium facilities are an upgrade from ours . People are complaining to the athletic department I am sure. Were people complaining in 1995 when we had the greatest team in CFB history. Indiana has updated their stadium greatly from 2016 when i was there.$600 million could buy a lot of talent in the transfer portal. I don't think any recruits cared that Indiana has a dump of a football stadium.
Meh. I go to watch football not to get up and buy concessions. Put in seat backs if you want and give people more elbow room and it’s fine. Waste of resources.South stadium was badly in need of a overhaul for all those that have seating there.
WAY easier to watch all the games on TV now.I'd also wager that the average age of our most loyal fans is much higher than it was back in the 90s - a function of our program's irrelevance for most if not all the lifetime of anyone under the age of 30. You’re only fooling yourself if you don’t think it’s not going to improve alcohol sales immensely.Meh. I go to watch football not to get up and buy concessions. Put in seat backs if you want and give people more elbow room and it’s fine. Waste of resources.
Plus not everyone is the same. What about parents with younger kids who need to use the facilities and they are in the 80th row of south stadium and getting up and down can mean missing half of an entire quarter. You’re only fooling yourself if you don’t think it’s not going to improve alcohol sales immensely.
Therefore you have to take a piss a time or two.

DifferentIs this pretty much the same thing Trev couldn't get off the ground? Or a different scope altogether?
From what I'm hearing, 2-250M from private donations that I think were already there. The rest will come from bonds. This is a great plan because they will get snatched up fast if tax free. This won't affect nilMan that’s a lot of money and a pretty fancy stadium for a team that struggles to go 6-6. Can we spend the 600 million on NIL and play the games

Trev's project was 450 million. This is 600 million. Good luck with that.Is this pretty much the same thing Trev couldn't get off the ground? Or a different scope altogether?
Count me in with that one tax fee or not. From what I'm hearing, 2-250M from private donations that I think were already there. The rest will come from bonds. This is a great plan because they will get snatched up fast if tax free. This won't affect nil
Kicker now is I'm hearing private bond. I'm going to have to know/hear more about thisCount me in with that one tax fee or not.
Wait a second what if this money is secretly the money set aside to remove the staff and get a better one ;PAm I a bad fan because IDGAF about this project and think that money could be better spent on canning Matt and bringing in a real staff?
Maybe they should just extend Rhule another 3-4 years to have more cost certainty before such a grand endeavor.Wait a second what if this money is secretly the money set aside to remove the staff and get a better one ;P
Would t the private donations be money that could have been NIL? I just don’t feel the program is good enough to be spending this kind of money on it?From what I'm hearing, 2-250M from private donations that I think were already there. NIL has changed with Revenue sharing to a certain degree.Would t the private donations be money that could have been NIL? I just don’t feel the program is good enough to be spending this kind of money on it?
I'm pretty sure they do. You have to have that commitment to go forward which they didn't 2023The real question in my mind is do they already have the 200-250 million in hand? It seems like they had to scramble to raise the funds to buyout Frost when he was fired. If they do have it then bonding the rest would be no problem for a program that takes in 150 million per year.
No I'm pretty sure that was committed or pledged in 2023Would t the private donations be money that could have been NIL? I just don’t feel the program is good enough to be spending this kind of money on it?
What I worry about is that when we go up to 80,000 capacity in 2028 after going down to 65,000 capacity for 2027, we don't get those 15,000 fans back. Were people complaining in 1995 when we had the greatest team in CFB history. I did hear one Husker media type praise Dannon for being an expert at raising revenue. I definitely believe that the new chair backs in west stadium will have an increased price tag in some form. But the problem is those chair backs are going have the same legroom as flying coach on Frontier airlines.Meh they just want an excuse to kick people out of seats and jack prices up or at the bare minimum keep the prices high. If they wanted to guarantee a crazy crowd and forever keep a real sellout streak they would drop the prices of the tickets 50% and they'd never have to worry about attendance for the next 30 years.
