That 1990 season we gave up an average of 260 yards on defense, held multiple teams to shut outs, and played two teams that shared the national title. Yeah, even in 1990 our defense was good.
That didn’t stop people like your calling for McBride’s head on a platter. Oh, and Nebraska beat NOBODY that year in conference with a winning record (combined 20-32-2) and the 3 non-con victories were against teams with a combined record of 18-14-1. So the victories were against team with a combined record of 38-46-3. So just how good was that defense???
And if you don’t realize that college football is a completely different game today than it was in 1990 then you are beyond help. Ask some of the guys who played back then.
In 1990 there were 17 teams who allowed less than 300 yards a game. 2018, as of last week...8. The game is different today.
You are a prime example of of the expression “Figures don’t lie but liars can figure.”
When Chin gets guys here that are better suited to run his 3-4, and his D sucks, then I’ll be on board for letting him go. I’m not stupid enough and impulsive enough to call for his firing after 6 games in year 1, at a program that was a dumpster fire, and they are trying to put the fire out. Especially if his boss doesn’t want him fired.
