Pretty much the football version of Hillbilly Ball.
Truthfully don't like either one .
Dana with WV or D'Antoni with Marshall.

Fun to watch because there are a lot of highs and lows but no defense.
Dana is still an excellent offensive mind. Like him or not.

Dana was a dope who ran a dumbed down sandlot offense that would fade into defeat the last third of the season. Overrated. Overhyped. Overpaid. Under achiever.

He was a head coach at a major university, won an orange bowl and is considered a top level offensive coach.

Now he is at another good program....positioned pretty well in the college football world.

Not to mention he has made millions of dollars and has a great contract to make even more.

If you failed to reach potential as well as him you'd be lucky.
If Dana were highly thought of, he would’ve left for a P5 school. He isn’t at Houston because of his love for the school, no matter how he’s spinning it. Houston was his best option. He didn’t have time to spare. He was gonna finish .500 or worse at WVU in 2019. He was gonna be fired. He knew it

Was he really.

I think he won a fair share of games based on this but he also loss a few.
If you play uptempo football. What Neal Brown calls his NASCAR offense you are going to give up some points on defense unless you are deep. Talking about 3 deep on the DL and 2 deep everywhere else.
Attempting to control the lines only works if you can keep their defense on the field and their offense off of it.
Meaning that you are between a rock and a hard place if you don't have the talent or the depth.
I am thinking Neal Brown is going to be a lot like Dana Holgersen. Dana did what he did because he thought it was the only way to win.
If you want to go vanilla on offense and control the LOS when teams like Oklahoma are scoring on 2 minute drives. The game will be 35-7 at halftime.

Does he pay your bills or something?

He has a great contract at a place he likes. He is doing fine. Apparently after our bowl game he was on private jet with a billionaire....it doesnt seem like meeting potential in life is a problem for him.

He was most likely getting dismissed, but that is just how the coaching business is.....suggesting he is failing to meet his own personal potential is silly.

If he isnt meeting his potential, what does that say about you?

Considering you don’t know who I am, you have no idea if I have or not. I’m doing quite well.

Darth appears to be one of those people who measures other folks success or monetary achievement to prop up their own basement dwelling status. Too funny...but entertaining lol.

Its not merely monetary.

Being a HC at a major college program is just about the highest level of achievement someone in that field can attain.

There is only about 65 of those jobs available.

So Dana is an idiot and demoted himself out of one of those 65 jobs. Houston is not a P5 school

I couldn't have wrote a better piece than this.
This deserves a Pulitzer Prize. What an in-depth story about Dana Holgersen.
Only thing that could have been better is a story about Dana coming down off a bender and showing up to practice 25 minutes late smelling like gin and stank *****.

Some of the attacks on Dana are ridiculous.

Did you ever hear that you can tell a lot about a man by his house.

Dana is very efficient, detail oriented and inventive.
The guy grew up in the Midwest with a lot of people like him. Spend some time in Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota and you will see.

I doubt he ran his practice any different.
The evidence is in his house. The evidence goes against this narrative.

People around the Houston program have said the same about Dana.

I am sure the 2 seasons he spent in Houston makes the Houston folks better educated on Dana - you know, where he wants to be an anonymous face in the crowd - than the WV folks who spent the last 8 years with him.

I’m actually not lol. I’d be agitated if he were still here lol

You're just beginning a new cycle. You'll feel the same way about Brown when you learn he cant win every game either.....then we can start cranking the outrage machine again.

Darthy...the difference is attitude and approach. Dh was destined to be exposed as a low life way b4 ollie made the mistake.

What has Dana Holgorsen done to be labeled a low life?

His separation from WVU was completely amicable.

His attitude and approach put together some nice seasons. Lyons could have removed him at any time, he never pulled the trigger.

You will be throwing Brown under the bus in short time, you can bet on that.

Wins are the only thing which matter. Good attitudes dont cut it.

I don’t expect to win every game. I also don’t expect to “go for it” every 4th down. Costing us several games

Dont worry, you'll find a target for your rage. Clock management, play calling, scheme....something will trigger the lesser developed parts of your brain.
