It’s not silly when theirs people old enough on here that remember what happened to that program. Obvious you’re not lol You’re not old enough to remember the excuses Indiana fans made for their coaches over the years. I hate Indiana basketball but I remember it. People on here are saying the same things. There is always an excuse for Pope. The longer a program is mediocre the harder it is to get back to being elite. That’s not silly at all

I would like to go to Nashville just to catch up with fans like y’all. But I’m not going this year. This will be just the second time missing since they brought the tourney back in ‘79.
I’ll miss next year too if we still have the clown posse coaching.
I’m not spending another dime on tickets or hotel rooms to watch UK as long as Pope is here.

I think you're taking a joke way too seriously. I've never said teams can't fall. If you think I'm arrogant for saying message board posts don't cause anyone to become Indiana, you're within your rights. I don't see how anyone should have a problem with my opinion on that.

That's precisely what you are implying by suggesting we shouldn't want Pope gone do to last nights game. Im not one moving time frames and goalposts around to tell others what they should or shouldn't be upset about.
Never said you shouldn't be upset. Upset is understandable. The extreme of firing him is what's strange. There's really no way to move the time frame here. Pope is in his second season. Last year, he was hired late, was given no roster and made a sweet 16...nothing wrong there, actually a success. This year has been rough; they look good a times, look okay at times and look bad at times, but it's 1 year and we're down 3 players who were supposed to be starters. Even though some people don't want to admit that, missing 3 starters makes for a tough season for any team. That's not moving any goalpost or timeframe; that's just stating the facts.
He’s a nice guy he’s just young. I disagree with him but he’s not a bad person or anything like that. He’s just someone I respectfully disagree with sometimes.
I’ve dealt with enough “smart” Reddit-style posters on different forums to be patient with people like that, I hate to admit.
