Really, because if I were a " fake fan" I'd be loving watching Kentucky turn into Indiana.
I have NO problem losing to another team IF IM watching EFFORT. What I'm watching is no where close to effort. Unacceptable to real fans.
There's a big difference in being upset at how the team is playing and going into hysterics and calling for Pope to be fired. This game has been awful and I would that any Kentucky fan would be upset by this mess, but the immediate jump to firing the coach is ridiculous and the "turning into Indiana" thing is such an awful cliché that it's embarrassing to see someone use it.

I do and they're embarrassing, especially from people who claim to be fans
Still pumping this BS. You didn't like Cal because he lost a bunch and hated the fans. You hated Cal because he didnt recruit mountain boys. And bring back cool uniforms. And praise the fanbase everytime. And wasn't "one of us". You don't even really care if we win or lose. Just that we have a good ole boy in the seat. LOOK! Cliff Hagan just got off the bus!

Had a double digit lead now down by 17. If it offends anyone that I’m pissed about the results, I really don’t give a ****. You can accept it all you want, but it doesn’t sit well with me.
They were up.30-18 & got out scored 23-3 thd rest of the way, I stopped watching the **** after that. Me & my buddies will be in Nashville at Tin Roof on Broadway to watch the tournament & party, they'll lose the 1st or 2nd game as always.

Lose to Florida and it will be a 14 loss season. 14 FREAKING LOSSES!
... didn't Pope pre-season describe this team as a Ferrari? Beside his coaching deficiencies, he can't identify real talent. Nothing to see here. Instead of building his Ferrari, maybe he should concentrate on building a four-wheel drive to get his jalopy outta the ditch.

100% right there.

Pope was the least talented regular on his team and was surrounded by some real talent. He doesn’t seem to grasp that. Plus he had a coach that wanted to destroy every single opponent. Pope wants to understand everyone’s truth.

Popes time here looks much worse if Oweh doesn’t hit those to buzzer beaters vs Oklahoma last year. Pope would be kissing that sweet 16 goodbye. That’s how close of a margin he is playing with here. Kinda like LSU this year, we should have never won that game and UK who spend more money that any team in the SEC is gonna be playing on Wednesday in the tournament. I wish to god UK fans wouldn’t go.

Look who's celebrating a 14 loss season. It's Cold Stout Beer/Manofmanynames/DubyaCDubya/Leadbelly
JLoad22/Cards Stink It's easy to spot this clown. Comes in hot under each new username and obsessively defending every loser to coach here. It's rich watching him trash CCC now for his Pope agenda after all those years he kissed his ***. His motive is just to piss everyone off, bait and troll. Nothing else. Too busy worrying about how many points Oats gave up rather than where this team stands at. No one gives a damn after taking another pathetic loss.

UK needs to thank Pope for the effort, but it’s just not working out and politely fire him, get on a flight to Florida with the highest paying contract in college basketball and bring Golden back to Lexington. Hire him and we’re back to being an elite program. He’s to good of a coach to be at a football school anyways lol his *** needs to be coaching right here in Lexington KY.

What Coach is going to want to be here knowing they have a short time period before the fans turn on them?
I could think of around 10 million or so reasons for a big time coach to give it the old college try. Some men aren’t afraid of this challenge and there’s always someone who will want a shot. I could be wrong though. I sure understand about the fan bullstuff though, we have some real doozys. Haha.

As long as they’re not getting blown out every other game, fans will show patience if it looks like we’re heading in the right direction.
If they played as hard and with the effort as Buckys guys I’d bet some would be a little more understanding with a few close losses for a little bit. Well some wouldn’t but I think the majority would

I like Pope, he’s a good guy but at this point he’s not good enough to coach here. It’s not his fault, he shouldn’t have been hired in the first place.

What do we know about the Texas Tech coach? Can we afford to hire him?
I know he’s got some of the biggest donors in college basketball and they’re wanting to pay whatever it takes at the moment. Not sure they’re gonna follow with him. lol. The coach from Iowa State seem to get the most out his his guys this season to. There’s a few good ones coming up right now. Maybe Pope gets the right guys next season and goes on a big run to. I’m sure pulling for him. I’d say he definitely needs to show improvement or the noise may be too loud it can’t be ignored.

We’ve been through this before. The same narrative was used when BCG was fired after two seasons and we got Cal. So our on history doesn’t support your take.

Cal was pretty much an immediate success. Kentucky fans don’t have a lot of patience regardless of who the Coach might be is my point.

What things are great??? Seriously what???? lol we are 19-10, about to be 19-11. Were you born 10 years ago???
Things that are great? Recruiting...wait... we have zero recruits. Vying for conference championship....wait...not even sniffing the top of the league. Talk of the college basketball world....no that would be Duke. Now they do talk about Kentucky but are saying how much of a disappointment they are. The team doesn't play hard. Doesn't try. Rolls over. 'Get mine' mentality.

Yep. Things are great. When you stop expecting greatness then you become mediocre. Apathy sets in and you become Indiana and UCLA.

Who would people say is the top programs right now in the SEC? Florida, Alabama? Definitely not Kentucky right now. And that is just the SEC. That is not even talking about the country. Who is? Duke, UConn, Florida.

Damn K ,me and you led the charge for 2-3 years before Cal was finally shown the door but you are going all-in on Caoch P ? I mean I like him but this season hasnt been bad , its a disaster. And I'm far from convinced having Lowe makes much difference . And JQ was a huge gamble that cost someone millions . With zero return. The bizarre substitution patterns are what befuddles me . The entire state sees it ( EXACTLY like spotting Cal's awful moves) we are all confused by it , but Coach just keeps doing it . Its costs us a couple wins this year IMO. I assume your position is give him 1 more season to prove something ? We cant accept being a nobody on the national stage , praying to luck out and get to a sweet 16 , take care fellow Cat fan ... A coach that’s a proven winner, and stares adversity in the face and laughs, right before he kicks adversity’s ***, and has it make him a sandwich afterwards!

Something you and your ilk know nothing about.

That’s who 💯✅💯

Been here for over 60 years through thick and thin and I’m not going anywhere. If Pearl were here and had a rough time gettin rolling would the fans turn on him or be patient? I you know the answer to that.

I'm actually not all in on Coach P, but I can also realize that he hasn't had a healthy team to coach since his arrival. There are a lot of negatives and a whole lot of frustration, but yes, I would like to see him get a third year, with a healthy team and see how that goes. IF he cannot do better in that third year, I would agree that it's time for a change. Thanks for the reply, I did not realize that this Anon profile was you!

LOL , Hell up until 3-4 years ago I couldnt tell you what Matt Jones looked like . I dont do radio or podcast . People flat out said I was lying , SMH . ..... MD

Why do you show up to trash the coach when we're struggling, but you're NEVER here to praise the coach when things are going great.
Serious question...When has it been "going great"? Don't list a bunch of Q1 wins, because I can list just as many (plus 2) Q1 losses. Along with some other head scratching losses. The dude has 23 losses in less than two seasons, which is most likely going to be 26 losses in two seasons. I'm genuinely curious when it has been "going great". I just don't see it.

It's not an "immediate jump". He's going to have 14 losses this season and 26 in two years. At UK. Nothing about that is an "immediate jump", especially when you consider Pope's entire resume.

The games we win. The ones you don't show up to discuss. I narrowed it down to two sentences (not including this one) just for you.
So 60% is "going great"? And a record of 2 games under .500 in Q1 games is "going great"? I think we might have different opinions of "going great".

That’s not a funny joke. Look at all of the excuses we’ve been giving for Pope since he’s been here. I include myself with that because I like the guy as a person. We’re in 7th place in the SEC. Pretty sure we finished 6th last year. He’s been awful in press conferences (never seen a coach act like he did after the Michigan state loss), misses on his top targets in recruiting more than any coach we’ve had in my lifetime, makes bad substitutions that hurts us in games and claims they were good after the game, etc.

There are obvious red flags and why you’re insinuating that people are stupid for being concerned doesn’t make much sense.

What makes it funny is the hyperbole. We are in line for a 6 seed and it's rightfully driving us nuts. Indiana? They've had two seasons better than a 6 seed in the last thirteen years. It's ok to laugh at the silly comparison.
