New Athletic Director not from within the Program?

The last update we received was on May 21st, when the school announced Barnhart’s replacement would carry the titles of athletic director and CEO of Champions Blue LLC, but other than that, it’s been a relatively quiet search for the school.
The Wildcats have had a plethora of candidates on the board, but it seems they’ll go with an external hire once they make a decision.
“It would be a major surprise if Deputy AD, Marc Hill, or any other current Barnhart lieutenant were promoted to the job,” Jon Hale said in a recent article for the Kentucky Herald Leader.
The program is looking to hire someone who “is an experienced athletic director and people with varied backgrounds in pro sports and business,” UK president Eli Capilouto said in the updated job description.

I was just getting ready to come post this man this is really good news . They are going to pay $30,000 and have a firm do the searching! This is what needs to happen!
Well, they posted the job ad a bit ago, so I’d say they already have their candidate. This is typically how the University handles that.

I don’t see why you hire a search firm to just hire in house.
Is there any names actually mentioned with the job? I remember the Boise State one at one point being mentioned. Sounds like it won’t be Hill or Baker
We make the right hire we may go on an unprecedented run in the big two sports.
Maybe Eli will do something right for a change... We need an AD that is with the times heading that department!
