I'm Alive!
I called the critter catcher guy recommended above. He came to my house looked around with a flashlight for 20 minutes, said he couldn't find it, told me to call back if i see it again. Like I'm ever going in there again, yeah right! I agree with above poster, I should have never left, nor taken eyes off him. Big Mistake! Now we have no clue where it is. However I'm deathly afraid of snakes and heights but I would jump out of a plane if it had a snake in it. I panicked when i shouldn't have. My neighbor and I walked through the house yesterday. We didn't see it, but then again a snake can hide pretty well. I turned my 4 bed/3 bath house into a 1 bed/1 bath. I duct taped doors shut off every room that I don't need, and stuffed towels under so if its in one of those rooms it cant get to me. I still have not slept in the house since. Hell i had nightmares feeling like things were crawling on me at my friends house. I need therapy after this incident. I think I have PTSD now! I've basically been homeless the past 4 days. You are 100% correct, once you see it, you can never unsee it.
I am originally from Jackson not Vicksburg, still work in Ridgeland, don't have many people i know here. My friends said burn it down as most posters here have stated. I'm not far from that option.
It's possible the snake left on its own, the way it came in. It's also possible that it didn't which concerns me. I taped up the window it came in so it will not be able to get in again but that also means I could have trapped his only escape.
I do have a gas oven and i suppose its possible the snake left through the hole for the gas line. It could be in the walls for all I know. I don't think i will ever be comfortable in that house again. Every little noise i hear has me jumpy.
I don't know what to do. I'm very disappointed in Orkin who still hasn't called me back by the way. I can't believe wildlife/game wouldn't help.
I don't want to move. I love the space and land out here in Warren County. It's much nicer than the city life, but I've never seen a snake in any city house so my mind is changing quickly.
