I agree it has to get better than this. If it doesn't the next guy will have a bunch of talent to work with.I enjoy going to the games. Even when we suck. But, like I said...if this is the product...hopefully Moos is hiring two coaches in the next year.
True that. Ours took a flight out of LaGuardia about two hours ago."Defense travels"
I know! FrustratingGolly. Dribble dribble dribble against the man D and then throw up a fade away 30 footer.
If you haven’t learned yet...you never will. This is Tim Miles ballCold cold night shooting the ball. Hope it's just one game or this will be a long long season.
Gill's gonna shoot his way out of this two-year slump if it's the last thing he does.Cold cold night shooting the ball. Hope it's just one game or this will be a long long season.
I like Allen. But if our season is riding on him then chalk up another 12 win season for Miles.Allen can be a difference maker for us but he's hurt and they didn't think he would play at all. He can fill it up from outside and our season probably rests on his shoulders. Nobody else can shoot
might be but we have to have somebody who can consistently hit an outside shot and he's the only guy I've seen on our team who can do that so far.I like Allen. But if our season is riding on him then chalk up another 12 win season for Miles.
I did not see the game, was listening while cleaning a deer and tagging it out. I thought he made progress in season last year. Has he regressed in the Tim Miles off season plan? You know the one.... where they only concentrate on D, and the coach gives interviews wondering how other schools get all their offensive sets installed BEFORE the season? Can we finally all admit that Jordy just isn't that good at all?

Jordy is coming off of tendon/ligament surgery in one of his knees one of our guys said in the pregame and he's not completely back. I agree I thought he had made huge strides at the end of the year but he looks tentative again. I bet he gets better as he regains confidence in that knee.I did not see the game, was listening while cleaning a deer and tagging it out. I thought he made progress in season last year. Attended the game. A very winnable game that would have come in handy down the road. This team has more talent than I’ve seen. But this team has no offensive ball movement. No system at all that I can tell.
Palmer is a hell of a player. Copeland has great size and can move for his size. Watson has shown how good he can be. Allen can shoot. Evan Taylor has nice athleticism. Jordy is a nice big body.
Yet somehow this team looks so disjointed.
Ugh.
Like football we hear stuff like this during the off-season about basketball. I think we have more talent than what we showed last night but for the life of me I still don’t understand our offense.Palmer:
"I think this team could be real good. I think we could make a run in the (NCAA) tournament. We have to focus on getting there first, but I think this could be one of the best teams to ever come through Nebraska."
Okeke:
"This is probably the most talented team I've ever played with, I'm not going to lie to you. You've got guys with different stuff and different backgrounds, but it's just like, I see us doing so much more.
"Like, we have no ceiling. I know a lot of teams say that, but if you look at our roster and you see what we do day-in and day-out, this is probably one of the most talented teams I've been a part of."

Before the season these guys thought they were the ****. I hope they don't think that anymore.
Time to practice getting better in practice.
Maybe someone should email Moos and tell him to ask Miles about his offense, how it works and why he hasn't changed it since it hasn't worked for 6 years now.
Welcome to college basketball. Roster turnover is part of the equation, and eventually you need to produce results on the court. That doesn't mean you absolutely have to go on the road to St John's in November and get a win, but it would be nice not to get your *** completely handed to you in each and every phase of the game for the entire 40 minutes.Maybe this team just needs time playing as a team.
A lot of new players on the roster that haven't played together until the Missisippi State game and haven't even practiced together as of now.
Offense is puzzling no doubt but I'm going to give Mullin and St John's some credit. Xavier is ranking and beat Wisconsin last night and I didn't see anything out of Xavier's defense compared to what St John threw at NU last night. They were in our face all over the floor most of the night. Watson got pushed around and got frustrated and Allen just couldn't go. Their guards killed us and I don't think we'll see very many guard tandems that good this year. We'll see how it turns out but I'm not going to slash my wrists just yet over a game this early in the year. We couldn't buy a shot last night and they couldn't miss. Not everybody we play can shoot like that can they?Like football we hear stuff like this during the off-season about basketball. I think we have more talent than what we showed last night but for the life of me I still don’t understand our offense.

I didn't get to watch the whole game but every time I saw them put up a 3 it went in. I was surprised when I looked up the stats. I would have figured they had shot it much better than that. That said, we were terrible from the field. I'm hoping St Johns is better than we think and there D was all that was wrong for us cuz we looked putrid.St. John's was 5-of-17 from three-point range - which isn't terrible, but it's not like they absolutely lit it up from the outside. They won the game by making layup after layup after layup.
