‘Nebraska loses their 7 game losing skid.’

You know it hasn’t been going well when the announcer says it like that.
Lol I noticed that. I think they have become so use to saying "Nebraska loses their........." So he was already mid sentence when he realized they won, he covered in nicely. lol

You're right about the NCAA tourney bid attached to Tim's future. However, I don't think they need to win out in order to earn an at large bid.

The team has 3 Quad one wins now.
They still have 4 more Quad one games out of the final 6.

Beat NW and Penn State. It wouldn't surprise me to see Nebraska lose both. But considering both those teams have been awful this season, its attainable.

Then beat Purdue and Iowa at home. Hell Doc Sadler and even really, really bad Tim Miles teams used to win games like those two.

That would give the Huskers two more Quad 1 wins. They would also have 18 wins total. I think 2 Big Ten tourney wins probably get them in that scenario.

Ok if you really want to live in a fantasy world, let this scenario play out:

Win the four above while winning at Michigan State or Michigan.

I would bet Nebraska is in automatically at that point, without even needing a big ten tourney win.

And no I expect None of this to happen. It also illustrates why this season has been so frustrating and why Tim deserves the axe barring a miracle finish.

The tourney bid was sitting on a platter for them.
Yeah, I think the only way we get in is to either get to that 19 win mark min and maybe at least 1 BIG10 Tourney win. Or obviously win the BIG10.

Upper deck was sparse, 200 level wasn't bad, student section had a lot of empty seats. Good to see Glynn find his shot again.

Around 11,500 official attendance. We are one of a few who still report actually attendance. Not bad considering our conference record.

I don’t think they need to win out. I think they need to get to 8-12 to be smack dab in the middle of the bubble. The bubble is extremely weak, hell...Creighton was in Lunardi first 4 out before last night. Getting to 8-12 likely means 3 more tier 1 wins. May have to win another in the Big Ten tournament at that point.

But, getting to 8-12 is probably not realistic with this team.

Are you smoking dope? You might want to wish/hope for an NIT bid. This team blows..

No doubt Pitino is going to submit that last call to the NCAA. Very odd call for a ref to make at the end of a game and it may have cost Minnesota a tourney bid. Gopher fans are going ballistic on their boards.
Then he better submit the THREE fouls Minnesota got away with that led to 6 points for them in the last 2 minutes. Murphy got away with 2 elbows to Roby's chest to clear room for layups and then Watson got knocked off his feet on that out of bounds play and there was no whistle. I agree that the officiating was iffy the whole game, but that isn't anything new in the B1G especially when it's 2 bottom feeders playing.

If Miles somehow gets us into the NCAA tournament and wins a game, I'd be fine with bringing him back for another year.

But we all know that's not happening. We might win the next two, but we won't win any of the last 4 on the schedule.

Nebraska is not making the tournament and Miles contract will not be renewed.

Consider the coaching search underway.

Whether Miles wins any more games or not, is fired or not, I hope he's learned the value of giving guys more game time to develop his bench. Guys like Heiman, Nana, Borchardt, and even Thor have gotten better with each and every game they've gotten significant minutes. IF Tim had done that earlier in the year, we might not have suffered such a horrific collapse. After watching the extended bench get better late here, I feel a little better about next year if Roby and Allen stick around. We've got probably a better point and a good 2/3 coming in. Still need to find another big.

I think Jervay Green and Mika Adams-Woods will ask to be released from their LOIs when Miles is fired. They signed here mainly because of the current staff. Arop from Creighton Prep will still come here but he's a project. Next year will likely be ugly even if all of the current guys stay.

We'll find out. IF Miles is fired AND we hire the right guy, those kids might still come. Don't know. Arop is the least of my worries. Definitely a project and a new coach is going to have some new prospects. IF we fire Miles, next year is a throw away where you just hope to have a .500 year.
