Sarcasm aside (and don't get me wrong, this team has earned its share), glad the guys won :D

The only question is who gets fired first, Miles or Pitino Jr?

We may be competing to hire the same coaches in a month.

No doubt Pitino is going to submit that last call to the NCAA. Very odd call for a ref to make at the end of a game and it may have cost Minnesota a tourney bid. Gopher fans are going ballistic on their boards.

Have mixed emotions on what I wanted to happen here. I've been saying that I want to win just enough for Miles to be gone. Not sure if I want them to get any confidence with this many games left.

Ultimately I want this year to be motivation for next year's team and new coach.

They have little room to complain. I'll fully agree, the foul call was a little weak; but considering the refs had spent 39:58.9 with their heads shoved up Pitino's hindquarters, they have no room to complain.

Oh god. Ya just heard Watson in the post game presser. “We changed a little bit on offense but it was better execution mainly, we mainly focus on defense because that’s what’s going to win us games” There it is...no offensive scheme, that’s what I get out of that and it SHOWS.

Miles isn't coming back unless we make the NCAA Tournament. And the only way we make the NCAA tournament is if we win out or win the Big Ten Tournament. So I don't think you have much to worry about.

That's not confirmed until we hear it. I just want to hear it before we can rest easily.

I hope for the kids sake they can win a few more and at least get to the NIT. I want to see them make some sort of postseason.

Even if it means that Miles could potentially be retained? NFW!! If that is even a possibility, I want us to lose enough to not make any postseason.

I’ll never root for the Huskers to lose, ever.

And that's ridiculous! It would be horrendously bad for our basketball program for Miles to be retained. Best to hope that we win enough for him to still be sent packing.

I'm still worried that Moos might just push the decision back another year of we make the NIT. Miles needs to go.

I don't think Moos wants to waste $4M next year for something he can do this year for half the price or whatever, NIT or no. Pretty sure the only reason it didn't go down last year was A) winning 20+ games; B) getting back a good chunk of that roster; and C) getting turned down when he (Moos) put out some feelers. Of course, I could be wrong.

I never post in basketball threads because I’m not a basketball guy.

At all.

But this 7 game losing streak is gonna be pretty hard for Miles to overcome. There were some horrendous losses during that stretch.

I think he’s gone no matter what.

But since I’m not an expert, I could be wrong.

I know I’m a biased fan, and the call that Palmer got in last two seconds was questionable, how about the multiple times #3 posted up and used his elbows to push Roby and Borchardt to score.

Yep, there were numerous other calls that Minny got to go their way during the game. The one Palmer got was magnified because of when it happened.

I was only able to catch a few bits and pieces of the game, but I'm glad Watson got out of his funk and NU was able to send Little Ricky home disappointed.

The final foul call looked like a huge gift, but a mere mortal like myself cannot possibly grasp the intricacies of college basketball officiating. So I'll just assume it was the best call ever.

About time we got one to go our way. And that’s funny Minnesota is crying like that, they all give us crap for being pissed about refs screwing us ALL THE TIME, and for once we get one to go our way, now Minnesota is doing something they look down at us for doing. I think it’s hilarious.

You're right about the NCAA tourney bid attached to Tim's future. However, I don't think they need to win out in order to earn an at large bid.

The team has 3 Quad one wins now.
They still have 4 more Quad one games out of the final 6.

Beat NW and Penn State. It wouldn't surprise me to see Nebraska lose both. But considering both those teams have been awful this season, its attainable.

Then beat Purdue and Iowa at home. Hell Doc Sadler and even really, really bad Tim Miles teams used to win games like those two.

That would give the Huskers two more Quad 1 wins. They would also have 18 wins total. I think 2 Big Ten tourney wins probably get them in that scenario.

Ok if you really want to live in a fantasy world, let this scenario play out:

Win the four above while winning at Michigan State or Michigan.

I would bet Nebraska is in automatically at that point, without even needing a big ten tourney win.

And no I expect None of this to happen. It also illustrates why this season has been so frustrating and why Tim deserves the axe barring a miracle finish.

The tourney bid was sitting on a platter for them.
