We need a 1 day coaching search so the new guy can come in and recruit the hell out of the transfer market and try and keep Roby and Allen aroundThis is the hard truth.
Yeah, a college bball player shouldn't need to be told to not take every head fake, to not swing the arm down on every block attempt, to be sure to block out to get rebounds, especially in crunch time of game/season...truly hard to watch such poor fundamentals over, and over, and over and over...Mikes has lost the team. Players play a hand in this as well but its true regardless.
Palmer with a bunch of 20 pt games where he was awful.
What was Watsons problem? hes a senior he allowed a freshman to get in his head. This one especially...seems to be just going through the motions right now. At one point he was 2-7 at the free throw line. That's just not caring.
Agree, at this point there is no chance Miles is the coach next year. The flames are an inextinguishable inferno at this point. There is obviously an issue if it happens to stem from Miles it may not hurt to get rid of him now. Maybe this team can finish the year strong at least. It’s only going to get worse. Sit back, pop some popcorn and watch the flames grow...

Honestly, he’s been in the top tier of successful coaches at Nebraska....we’re like Rutgers of football on the hardcourt.Miles was successful at CSU and the one or two years at Nebraska because he had an assistant coach who was really a better coach than he was. When Smith left Miles was exposed.
A legit big? You mean a true freshman that was ranked in the 350's and averaged about 8 points a game in HS?They're not inferior. Illinois has a legit big and some guys who can hit shots. We don't.
Gates has been an assistant under some really good coaches. Lewis played for and was a grad assistant for Bobby Knight. Likewise he has been an assistant for some good coaches. Molinari has had some success as a head and assistant coach. I'm not sure that Smith had anything more than good timing on when he left.Miles was successful at CSU and the one or two years at Nebraska because he had an assistant coach who was really a better coach than he was. Watch him play. He moved Roby and Borchardt where he wanted when he wanted. He out muscled them for position on rebounds, made his free throws and played good D. What more does it take to be a legit big man. He's certainly more legit than any center we have on the roster.A legit big? No no, I get what you are saying...but he wasn't a "legit big" 12 months ago...I think he best offer was Hofstra...my point is that the Illini found him and made him into what he is...where do you think he would be if Miles had offered him? My guess...hardly playing at all.Watch him play. He moved Roby and Borchardt where he wanted when he wanted. He out muscled them for position on rebounds, made his free throws and played good D. With his size, Miles would be playing him. For heaven's sake Borchardt is starting. Hindsight, Jordy leaving hurt. As much drama as he caused, his leaving still hurt us.No no, I get what you are saying...but he wasn't a "legit big" 12 months ago...I think he best offer was Hofstra...my point is that the Illini found him and made him into what he is...where do you think he would be if Miles had offered him? Tanner is 1 inch shorter and 15 pounds heavier...soooooo...and they are both white...and the Illini guy is from an impoverished eastern bloc country and just got to the US about 20 months agoWith his size, Miles would be playing him. For heaven's sake Borchardt is starting.
Watching them side by side, I don't believe those numbers. I can believe the inch of height maybe but not the weight. In any case, Borchardt doesn't have the wing span or jumping ability that kid had.Tanner is 1 inch shorter and 15 pounds heavier...soooooo
I don't know about the wingspan...or jumping...but I think Tanners stats were better today, weren't they?Watching them side by side, I don't believe those numbers. Don't know. He's a senior. He should have some advantage over a freshman. I didn't see him make any free throws but maybe he did. He plays hard, gets some put backs and did a better job of rebounding than he's done before. He still can't shoot. I still wouldn't call Borchardt a legit B1G big man but I see your point. 12 points and 18 rebounds. I don't know how many minutes he played but it was a lot.I don't know about the wingspan...or jumping...but I think Tanners stats were better today, weren't they?

Miles sucks but he can't make two foot shots for em.
Borchardt has given it his best effort. That's all you can ask. We would be losing by 20+ without him. Thor and Borchardt deserve their minutes. He played well. Had a couple of nice finishes when someone drove and passed it to him, plays Jordy would not have made.
Was he really though? I see some point to Miles past and say he had some success . That is why some thought he could do well here.Miles was successful at CSU and the one or two years at Nebraska because he had an assistant coach who was really a better coach than he was. He took over a cellar dwelling program and took them to the tourney at CSU. He did that at all of his stops. His first year or two at CSU was terrible thus the losing record overall. Just like here, he built a tourney team with transfers. He didn't stay long enough at CSU for us to know if he could sustain that there. His resume really was pretty darned good when we hired him. Making the schools that he coached at winners was a pretty amazing accomplishment. Having said that, was it his doing alone or did he have a lot of help from his assistants in getting that done and now he's not getting that help. It's why I'm not in favor of retaining Lewis if Miles is canned. Was he really though? I see some point to Miles past and say he had some success . That is why some thought he could do well here.
At CU st he was 71- 88 overall. Never finishing better than 4th in his conf. He has never been out of the first round of any tourney his teams have been in. I guess if you count D2 he made it to elite 8. Through most of his coaching career he has been a slightly above .500 coach with no real accomplishments of any kind. I don't think there is a D1 school in the country who would still have him as their coach after 7 years of this. My guess is after he is done here he will probably go back to the D2 level, maybe high school even.

He took over a cellar dwelling Mountain Westesque conference team who was scheduling accordingly. How many power 5 teams was he supposed to beat at CSU? I still say his resume looked very good and looked like what we needed. He proved that at least in the short term he could build a program in to a winner with his own recruits. He did in fact do that there and here. The issue appears to be winning consistently and taking his team to the next level.I am still shocked that more people don't see/agree with this. Dude beat 2 P5 schools at CSU...Literally no one was mentioning his name as some sweet up and comer.
I bet you (if the money was the same) he would have stayed at CSU instead of coming to NU.
