Poor take on this. The last time we had pitching like this, we made the CWS. It was mentioned during last night’s Creighton game. The batting avg. for opponents is around 230 if i remember correctly. I was a bit suprised as I agree some of our pitchers are not up to the task. But this is not horrible pitching from an NCAA perspective.More like Childress. Amazing this team has won 35 games given how shaky/bad the pitching has been. The bats have carried this team. Childress has had a great career, but his handling/building of the pitching staff this year has been beyond awful.
The 2005 Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball pitching staff held opponents to a .217 batting average during the season. Nebraska also finished second nationally in ERA at 2.41 while going 57–15 and reaching the College World Series.Poor take on this. The last time we had pitching like this, we made the CWS. This means Nebraska’s pitching staff is holding opposing lineups to well below the national D‑I average, which typically sits around .265–.275 most seasons (inference based on historical NCAA averages). That was also against big 12 baseball conference that is superior to the big ten year in and year out. Apples to Oranges comparison.,our bullpen has been extremely inconsistent all year.Poor take on this. The last time we had pitching like this, we made the CWS. Team ERA is 4.74. And team batting averages are down at all levels of baseball given the emphasis on home runs and strikeouts. That was also against big 12 baseball conference that is superior to the big ten year in and year out. If regionsdoc's numbers are correct compared to the 2005 team ERA, it's kind of obvious this years team pitching is nowhere near the 2005 cws team.Team ERA is 4.74. And team batting averages are down at all levels of baseball given the emphasis on home runs and strikeouts.
The offense has carried this team. Look at walks and hit batters and you will quickly realize why our ERA is so high despite the opponent’s low team batting average. Need to find a few guys who can come in and throw strikes or the post season won’t last long.
This years team is no where near any of our CWS past teams. If regionsdoc's numbers are correct compared to the 2005 team ERA, it's kind of obvious this years team pitching is nowhere near the 2005 cws team.
You are clueless calling it a dick move. He is fowling standard protocols. You think Creighton season ticket holders get to keep their seats for the CWS?Yea, definitely that was a total dick move on his part and for all the loyal season ticket holders who have stuck with them when they had some crappy years.
What the f that you know. You ain’t a baseball season ticket owner. You are clueless calling it a dick move. He is fowling standard protocols. You think Creighton season ticket holders get to keep their seats for the CWS?
Doesn’t matter. I paid general admission and wasn’t rewarded on a great season as a ticket owner. You did very well this year. Post season isn’t part of your package. You got preferred ordering. You were treated special. Something I couldn’t get. Stop insulting the department who gave you special treatment you entitled dick. What the f that you know. You ain’t a baseball season ticket owner.
Nobody on the planet buys Creighton season tickets with the expectation of securing seats for the CWS.You are clueless calling it a dick move. He is fowling standard protocols. You think Creighton season ticket holders get to keep their seats for the CWS?
As a decades-long CWS season ticket holder with primo seats, I would gladly give up my seats for any Nebraska or Creighton fan if their team makes it…..Nobody on the planet buys Creighton season tickets with the expectation of securing seats for the CWS.
Some people have regularly bought all-session CWS tickets for decades - THAT'S how they make sure they always have good seats for the CWS. NU's policy is like telling those people, "Hey thanks for buying CWS tickets all these years. But this year, Nebraska (or Creighton) made it to Omaha, so your tickets are no longer available."
Kudos for supporting the CWS, and helping keep it in Omaha. How would you feel about getting a letter saying a big football donor will be getting your seats this time? And then adding - but please come back next year!!!As a decades-long CWS season ticket holder with primo seats, I would gladly give up my seats for any Nebraska or Creighton fan if their team makes it…..
For a price of course![]()
Standard protocol is a football donor who hasn’t attended 1 baseball game gets a crack at regional baseball tickets over a baseball season ticket holder ?You are clueless calling it a dick move.
