I still cant believe the frame a pitch a foot and a half thing works. ******* ridiculous.
If you freeze the video at :06, that pitch is caught less than six inches off the ground.
Couldn't hit that pitch with Bryson Dechambeau's driver.
Hopefully the video of that call gets forwarded to the B1G and that umps inbox. Alls well that ends well I guess.

It was absolute bullshvt. That ump should never be welcome back to our ballpark. He should be ashamed of himself.
Never the less.. What a great win. My wife and I were watching and I told her we needed a 3 run homer here (8th inning) if we were gonna win and right after I said it, boooom.

Then how did the team that was ‘supposed to win’ wind up losing? Maybe it was a bad call but I’m doubting it was part of a grand conspiracy.
When we start getting those calls in the B1G against the top teams I’ll drop it. I actually thought our hoops team got more calls against weaker B1G teams at times. Same deal. Umps and refs know the score.
Edit: A D1 ump should never miss a strike call that badly. It wasn’t remotely close.
If an ump really wants one team to win, then that team wins. Period. See the CWS loss to Fullerton as an example.
That one did his best. He can’t help it that they pissed it down their leg later.
College needs the ABS system. D1 umpires aren’t that great. Hell I remember the Super regional win against Miami. The last strike to end the game was a good 4-5 inches off the plate.
From looking at the replays, that ump looked like he knew what he was going to call before the pitch, he didn’t hesitate a bit.

Last week’s bracket projection had us as a 2 seed going to Chapel Hill. Winning this series was mandatory for us to keep our hopes alive for hosting a regional. The upcoming game vs Kansas is huge too since the last projection had them as a regional host.
