UL about to get off as well. No trust in the NCAA

No they aren’t. We all know you are hoping and praying UL doesn’t get punished ... for whatever reason... but they will.
They’re title has already^ been vacated ... and they got caught by the fbi paying recruits.

Sorry to burst your bubble (I know it sucks) but they in trouble son.

That being said I still think you’re an amazing and intelligent poster :)

Basically, the NCAA is saying that if everybody's cheating (athletes and non athletes) then nobody is cheating. It's the Carolina Way. I have absolutely ZERO faith in the NCAA to do the correct thing any more. Hell, UofL is cheating but I guess they aren't really cheating either if some non athletes were at the Minardi Strip Shows. What a crock of crap.
Dang. That adds a whole new level. If one non-athlete touches a *****, no one touches a *****!

Kind of kidding, kind of serious.

If I am Memphis or UMASS I immediately go to the closet and raise those banners the NCAA told them to take down. If I am UK, I go back to the media guide for Cal and add all of the W's that were removed from his totals.

Absolutely disgusted. BUT not shocked.

So new rule for recruiting, give the cars, strippers, money to ALL students and then it is not a violation.

How about we offer Barrett 100,000 and then turn around an give a high school
senior 100,000 to enroll at Kentucky. This will take care of the NCAA requirements that not just a Student -Athlete was offered this money but a
regular student was also offered thus according to the NCAA no rules were broken. JUST SAYING

That's what I was gonna say. Except just pay a regular student 10k. That way both are paid but Barrett got more because he plays basketball and has to work harder so her per hour scholarship wage was higher. Just frame payments as scholarship value.

It’s UNC. That is the sole reason for the result and absolutely no one should be surprised. Duke and UNC are untouchable.

Tell me what the NCAA has done to give you such confidence that they will follow through with a punishment of UL

Wowwwwwwwwwww. Not even a symbolic slap on the wrist.

UNC did exactly what Jim Harrick did at UGA, except on a much larger, 20 year time frame. He was practically banned for life for that. And UNC doesn't even get a finger wag (yes there was other stuff involved with Harrick, but that's similar to UNC's whole car things as well).

There literally is no reason for every school to not start a GENERAL STUDIES FOR BASKETBALL or I LIKE FOOTBALL program, where you attend class for exactly one minute a semester, pretend to learn something, and get a big shiny A and a rubber stamped degree. Tell me one reason why they shouldn't? SACS has proven it's just a joke and won't take any real action on your academic standards. YOU get an A!! And YOU get an A!! EVERYBODY HERE TODAY GETS AN A!!!

But of course you know the second Kentucky did this, we'd be crushed by the NCAA. Absolutely disgusting.

The NCAA should have ended this report with notice that they are dissolving themselves as an organization. They are useless now.

OP. I think the title to this thread that you made is unintentionally factually correct. The NCAA is not in the position of judging academic matters. That would become a very slippery slope. They do a horrible job already with ATHLETICS. They may have liked to do something about this but in the end it is clearly a problem with UNC ACADEMICS and less so the athletics dept. JMHO
The problem with your stance on this topic is that the NCAA has not had a problem taking on this issue with other programs. The hypocrisy of this is what is so maddening. Why is UNCheat given the green light for academic fraud while other schools are hammered?? That is the problem with this whole stinking case.

I'm going to need someone to logically walk me through how the same organization that investigated the actions, found the information and publicly proclaimed the violations can get to the sentencing point and say nothing happened.

Wouldn't the time for that have already passed? I mean they established the crime. This was supposed to be the punishment phase.
It never happened. Nothing to see here.

Infractions are for the Stetson-like or hyphened-type institution.

Didn't Joe Bologna's *** get busted a few years back for giving pizza to athletes at a discount, or maybe free all together?

So long as he gives pizza to some other students for free and/or at a discount, guess he can resume...hell he could probably even suit for damages...

I think there's even a local barber in lexington who got a letter from UK compliance or NCAA because they hooked up some athletes from time to time...guess what, so long as they hook up a regular person once in a while, they can do whatever they want...

oh what's that...somebody saw a uk player driving a nice car...guess what, there are a lot of nice cars driving around lexington...oh, the player didn't pay for it somebody else did...lot's of rich college kids driving around in cars they didn't pay for, also the transaction in which the player benefited didn't happen near an athletic facility, or even on campus, so I suppose NCAA doesn't have jurisdiction...

I came to this board back in March and told you guys this was going to happen. You laughed at me, told me I was crazy, didn't listen to the facts, attacked me, and then banned me.

Maybe next time, you will listen to reason instead of going off emotion.

Anyone who took the time to look at the facts here and consider the legal ramifications would have known this would be the outcome.

Jay Bilas has been saying this too for a while and no one listened to him either.
Just shut up. What a clown.

Seriously though, what was the point of the findings and violations? What happened between five Level 1 Violations and Lack of Institutional Control and this morning?

It would be one thing if they just never found any wrongdoing and covered it all up. But to levy the charges and then bring no punishment is absurd. What's the explanation for the change? The investigation part was over. This was punishment.

Thanks for signing up. Can't imagine why your old account no longer works.

It should bother you that your entire academic institution is a fraud, but it doesn't, because you care more about what Kentucky fans think than having a soul.

Why is anyone shocked? Sankey is bought and paid for as is the NCAA. UNC knew nothing would happen. They have blatantly cheated for decades knowing nothing would happen.
This is all about money and perception. UNC generates a lot of money and they can't be perceived as the sham they are. NCAA is an old toothless dog that just barks every now and then. UNC is what they have always been, phonies with huge pretentiousness.

So, basically UNCheat got them to delay the announcement to stick it in everyone's face the day they raise their undeserved banner.

For whatever it's worth, people are outraged across the board. A few friends who barely follow the sport texted me about it, which shows how big of a story it was. UNC is getting hammered by social media.. they might have rather opted for a loss scholarship or two instead of this.

Between Huggins biased ref job and this, the NCAA is starting to feel more and more like the WWE. I guess the ACC would be Triple H and The NCAA would be Vince.

A lot at stake here. Dean Smith Legacy- UNC will do anything to uphold that cheating Bastard. ESPN- John Skipper is President of ESPN, SEC network is owned by ESPN, millions of dollars etc. Sankey- commish of SEC, hearing officer on this. Next blueprint in SEC in a few years will be Va. Tech and UNC. Sankey was not going to get involved to alienate a school that he hopes to covet and convince to join the Super league in a few more years.

The pundits like Bilas and others have given UNC a voice, a bail out. IT was academic fraud, it was going on for years. Everyone knew, athletes were told to take the classes. Hire lawyers and fight.

I would be very pissed if I was UL, UL was little stuff compared to this.
Lawyer up. Hopefully this ends NCAA

Those were just "allegations." They were never findings. Hence, a Notice of Allegations.

UNC responded with a compelling legal response to those allegations and the NCAA couldn't do anything.

Words mean something.

Please explain McCants going from failing to the Dean's List once his grades were rearranged. And Julius Peppers articulate paper that received an A for 2 sentences.

I hear you.

You're not "cheaters." You're a "fraudulent university whose academic standing is forever ruined despite sanctimonious, smug lies perpetuated by systemic corruption."

You must be really relieved.

So all UL needs to do is show non players were in the room with the whores and it will all be good?
I hope they (UL) can do that, let them bring back Rick and Jurich while they are at it.UL may have had the right idea after all .Do what ever you want just be a little better at working the system.

I'm very curious about the internal issues that have to be going on with the NCAA. There is a very clear disconnect between enforcement staff and the COI. I'd love for someone in enforcement to talk. Sankey should be run out of the SEC.

I loved ESPN acting as if this crap pile was the NCAA being sensitive to non-athlete students, claiming you can't just tell them that their course work was a sham.

They took the classes and didn't do a damn thing. They already know it's a sham.

I knew nothing significant would come from this but I thought they would at least get a small slap on the wrist. Lol.

So the Tarholes will now boast they are still doing things the right way and they are squeaky clean. The rest of the world will forever see them as low life cheaters though.

Someone made a topic recently: What would make you stop watching college basketball/ Kentucky basketball?

This is definitely on the list. We've learned in a year just how rigged this thing is and it's becoming increasingly hard to get excited for something that has some degree of predetermined outcomes.

I'm also becoming harder to be convinced that if the NCAA just let the damn sport play out that Kentucky wouldn't have 4 or 5 titles right now. Not sure why Duke and UNC winning titles is a good thing, but other teams having runs is a bad thing.

Now that the precedent has been set, how many other schools will now follow the UNCheat playbook to help keep their athletes eligible? Create some bogus classes, have a few other "normal" students in the course, and there ya go.
