Love these in state wars.
I don’t. I hate that the NCAA does that. Second round is more ok but I hate the instate first round matchups.

I’m sure the NCAA thinks”what an opportunity for the little guy to show the big instate school”. But as a fan, when we played NKU etc, I’d like to also be able to pull for NKU to make a run instead of wanting them to get beat down the first round.

My joke thread about Loyola beating UK is getting some Mr obvious type post on it. I didn't mean to go catfishing.
I think we would have played better D on them than IL, they don’t shoot the 3 great which was our main problem on D. But I don’t think we would have out scored them, depends on the day, if it was one of our 4 good shooting days we run them, otherwise we probably lose by 1 on a missed buzzer beater.

At least Illinois can comfort themselves knowing how hard it is to win a title.

1/2 of my final 4 gone, The Big 10 sucks. Overhyped and I fell for it.

Is it just me, or does it seem like college basketball is getting into an era where talent is SO spread out, that were not likely to see just a handful of teams just dominate.. the way we did with Kansas, UK, Duke, UNC?

Idk if thats because of UK being down, COVID taking a year off and/or all the upsets this year.. but it feels like we're in some kind of transition.

Fixed it for you.

I love hating on Kansas lol.. but there's a reason they are one of the four blue bloods.

Idk, maybe its knee-jerk reaction. I just feel like we won't ever see a four-team decade-spanning group of powerhouses like we've been accustomed to.

What we are seeing is it does not take NBA talent to win in college. Skills defeat athleticism.

I've felt this way. The great HS players are going to go right to the G League. UK will still eat first but the talent gap between the bluebloods and the rest will be smaller.

Yep. And I wonder if it goes deeper.. more programs get more exposure in the internet age.. you don't NEED to go to a top 5 program with more power to the players in 2021, and less with the programs and coaches.

Yep. It definitely seems like more often now than before big time recruits are choosing to play elsewhere and not just with the big programs.

Or maybe this is just a strange year and everything goes back to normal but IMO the playing field in college basketball is just becoming more and more level.

We haven't eat first the last six seasons.Cal has really been missing on his top targets.

Those Lilly from AT&T bits are cringe. I dont mind them, but who thought it was a good idea for 4 guys in 2021 to be like "ok Lilly, now explain something simple that only a simple girl sports brain can do". Im amazed these got the greenlight.

We have had some big misses but we've also had some good recruits as well.

In some ways I feel like maybe we were spoiled the first 5 years or so. We expected to reel in everyone and I'm not sure that was realistic looking back at things. I mean in 15, we had enough to field two top 25 teams IMO. That was just an embarrassment of riches.

I feel like this stuff goes in cycles tho and maybe it'll swing back our way in the future at some point.
