I honestly think it's a good idea for teams to lose in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Never too early to get a jump start preparing for next season. Hell, why even make the tournament at all?
The best reason to win some games in the Big Ten Tournament is that it provides one more entry in the bag of lame excuses for crapping out the following week. It’s right up there with the meat grinder regular season schedule, the suddenly tight officiating and the unfair seeding system.
And let's not forget this timeless classic: Big Ten administrators are sabotaging their own basketball teams!
And to think no other college BB teams outside of the mighty Big Ten face any of these horrible obstacles. It's just so unfair.

History says losing before the conf semis eliminates you from title contention.
Since you’re both a B1G and rodent fan, I would also not be surprised to hear you say you’d be happy with a win or two and some fun after the boys are well rested.
A team just this year (UNC) went from roughly an 11-seed to an 8 via a strong finish, and now find themselves in the Final Four.

you want your team to lose early so you avoid injuries? have at it. just know you're simultaneously rooting against your team winning it all.
tell all the UNC fans your little plan. I'm sure they'd have loved being solidly in as a double-digit seed instead of making the late season push (including making the ACC tourney semis) that's landed them in the Final Four via their 8-seed.

Like I said, if & when Nebraska has a team that's solidly in the NCAA....you are free to cheer them and hope they fight & battle all the way through a grueling conference tournament just days before the NCAA.
We can’t, though. You cannot name a single team that won the national title after bowing out early in its conference tournament. Not one. You have no argument.
I would be interested in how many teams have lost in the first round of a league tournament then went on to win even 1 or 2 games in the NCAAs
I’m sure there have been plenty winning the first round game after losing the first round in the conference tournament…
Making the sweet 16 after losing the first round in the conference tournament may be a different story..
Gophers and Huskers same amount of Sweet 16s in the last 10 years

Davison played in all 33 games in 2017-18 and started 29 of them, but the NCAA hands him a medical hardship. Commissioner Alvarez must have really worked the phones to pull that off.

If & when Nebraska is an NCAA lock....you can proclaim with trumpets blaring that it's Big Ten Tournament and National Championship or bust. You can cheer with all your might that Nebraska fights & claws all the way through the conference finals right before their first NCAA game.

For the 1st time in my life I support not doing the national anthem before sporting events if that's what we're going to hear. Good Gawd that was awful..... The entire arena should have kneeled in protest.
Creighton men's and women's team were both eliminated by the eventual national champion. I wonder how often that happens.
