I have no Lebron axe to grind but that was chicken-**** as we would say in the hood.

I think Charles made an outstanding point about AD. The Lakers need to sit down with AD and figure out what his issues are as at his age if he's taking care of himself, his diet, and working out properly he shouldn't be getting hurt so much.

AD does have that look of a guy that spends a lot of time in front of the gaming console.

Agreed. They should have known he was brittle from his time in New Orleans. It's nothing new with him.

well, he does beer commercials. I wonder if that’s a reflection of his diet?

The idea that the Lakers haven’t spent time with AD on his health, diet, etc, is a little stilly.

The guy has the type of body that is injury prone. It is what it is.

he wasn’t even that tall until what, 16? He isn’t built like Lebron, or Kareem even.

It is what it is.

one thing I have noticed is that as teams are losing in the post season, they are expressing relief that the season is over. The delayed bubble, combined with covid protocols, really had a draining effect on a lot of teams.

AD and the Lakers played until mid October last season, and then started back in December.

at one point, some of them were talking about sitting the first month of the season.

They chose not to, but in hindsight the benefit would have been clear.

For now, I'd blame the bubble.. which has sent a lot of players home with injuries. That screwed up a ton this year.

As for AD, he doesn't seem like a guy who is out of shape, otherwise. Or over weight. But when you're 6'10 running around like you're 6'2.. it takes a toll. Durant missed an entire year. AD and any other guy who seemingly gets injured every year (ahem, Blake Griffin/KP) should think about taking an entire year off to rehab. Seems to work well for others and lengthen their careers.

the problem with the injury narrative is the obvious. he’s a 6-11 tweener who added 20 lbs of upper body strength in the pros. he may be fluid for his size but he’s still an awkward human being. for as much as he flies around it’s no wonder he’s always banged up. he gave what he could including playing 40+ minutes their last few wins just so they could stay in the playoffs. the lakers are looking like the typical lebron team now, filled with mercenaries. the lakers need a major rebuild agenda or they won’t be able to build effectively around davis either.
