Number 28 or 29 to the Warriors or Spurs would be ideal to get coached by Kerr or Popovich. Doubt he'll go in first round though. 39 to New Orleans would also be good to get in on the ground floor with a young team.

White was so fun to watch at UNC, he'd at least be a fun piece for a crumbling franchise with a hopelessly incompetent front office

Mid second is maybe most likely. The wild card is the Bucks. I've heard rumblings that they really like him. The question is do they like him well enough to take him at 30. He would be a great fit for them as a bench player. IF he's still around at 43, I would be shocked if Minnesota didn't take him. Sounds like some people think Philly would take him in the 2nd. I'm not a fan of that organization but they would probably give him the best chance to be on a roster when the season opens. Boston is going to have to find some bodies as well.
If he is still available, no way Sacramento Kings don't take him at 40... That is the farthest he drops
My sister lives about 30 mins north of Milwaukee, so I’d love it if that happened.
Milwaukee has a good young team. Roby's athleticism fits with the way they like to play.

I’m proud of the young man. And this is just the start. Fred Hoiberg will give us several more over the years. Unless I missed it...I didn’t see one Iowa or Creighton player drafted
I sure hope you’re wrong... if you are right than football doesn’t get more than 1 player drafted per year... no way Hoiberg gets multiple players drafted each year moving forward. No disrespect to Hoiberg, but I just don’t see every year more basketball players get drafted than football players.
pardon the dose of reality, but what about 'his game' fits? the 33% 3pt shooting? the 45% shooting from the field? his inability to handle the ball or create his own shot from the wing? 5 rebs/game as the primary big man?
the only elite stat Roby produced were his 2 blocks/game. if he can play on-ball defense against NBA wings, I can see that being an in for him. 3 & D guy, assuming he vastly improves his shot and can get up over 40%.
he's 6'8". we'll see what happens, I'm rooting for him. but his career at NU can't be chalked up as anything but a disappointment.
it's been 20 years since we've had an NBA player. it's like coming out of a famine and thinking leavened bread deserves a Michelin rating.

Weird draft in many ways IMO. The Nets taking Claxton just proves it's all in the eye of the beholder. Very raw player. One pick can change multiple picks down the line. Once again the Timberwolves befuddle their fans by taking a foreign player. Guys kept getting drafted that few if any of the "experts" had on their board as "best available".somewhat surprised he lasted as long as he did but I've never understood what some NBA GMs are thinking with their draft picks, rosters and contracts. They do some really goofy things IMO. I don't know if it's owner meddling or just basketball stupidity.
Inability to handle the ball? I think you underestimate Roby's skills. In the right offense he can play and play well in the NBA. "Disappointment" for his career? Roby's career at NU can only be labeled a disppointment because of the results of the team and that was hardly all on him. What exactly did you expect out of a skinny kid with a major health issue when he arrived at NU? He played out of position almost every game of his career and did it with a great attitude.
Exactly, he was forced to play center when that is just not his game. Also how was he a disappointment? He wasn’t a five star kid coming out of high school, I guarantee if I told you the day he signed that his career played out like this you’d be pumped. Nowhere in my initial post did I say he would be a star, I said his game fit the modern nba, which it does. As a small ball 4 his game fits well, he needs to improve obviously but if you don’t think he has the physical gifts to contribute then you’re watching a different guy. I don’t know if he’ll ever carve out a role but a guy at his size with his gifts fits with the modern nba.
