UConn is the best program in college basketball in the last 25 years, it’s crazy the success they have had
If I never see SDSU in a national championship game again that would still be to soon
SDSU looked really good the last few games.. but I had this sense that eventually their scoring would dry up a bit and they'd show their mid-major genetics at some point.. turns out that was tonight.
Annndddd Kansas just moved back down the title rankings haha.
Kentucky is a long *** way away from playing in this game, I just want Kentucky to be back on this level
Xavier was the only team Connecticut did not beat this year. They had at least 1 win against every other team they lost to.
It's amazing how inconsistent they are. They're terrible or really good. When they're really good, they almost always win it all. When they win it all, it's almost always against a ridiculously easy path.
With so many great teams over the years in cbb not winning a title due to one crazy unlucky thing or another, it's pretty incredible how often UConn has stars line up for their really good teams.
I'm starting to think college basketball is just going to have even more randomness to it, with NIL and immediate transfers. Every team now will likely go through much more frequent roster turnover. It's player driven now.. not program driven or even really coach driven..
Same FaU and SDSU and teams like that making the final four will become more common. I’m just sad my team is so far away when the blueprint and what needs to be done is clear but our coach won’t do it
It's just gonna be even more of a crap shoot. It will be whichever coach in a given year can land the right transfers and not lose them. Maybe the next great coaches will find a way to make this work to their advantage every year?
Either way, Cal is gone soon. He's got another year. Hoping we can maybe pull off a F4 with sheer talent.
After that we need to find a coach who can handle this next wave of college ball. Maybe throw the bank at Dan Hurley, who was a coach I liked going back to last year. Or maybe you find someone like Tang who really seems to be the guy players are drawn too.
Kentucky needs to lean HEAVY into NIL to combat the bigger cities. And it needs a coach that players want to play for. Modern offense, likeable, probably on the younger side.
In terms of the tournament winner, yes. With so many teams it takes a great deal of luck, a really good team, and getting hot st just the right time.
What makes it great is what makes it frustrating. The best team that season often fails to wins it all.

Crazy. 5 NCAA Championships in 24 years yet they completely missed the tournament in 9 of those years. They haven't been all that great in the Big East in that period either: 5 regular season champions and 4 tournament titles.
Also when they have won it they were never dominant in the regular season, they just get insanely hot in March and capitalize on weak brackets
Last 25 years they have either missed the NCAA’s or lost in the first weekend 15 of those 25 years. Those other 10 years they win 5 National Titles. One of the crazier stats out there.
Yeah that’s the thing to me. We aren’t that close to these guys. Offensively a long way from UConn and defensively too and defensively not close to sdsu.
Our coach is gonna wait until the last minute and not get guys and be short handed again and run that dribble drive Bs with no shooting and a big camped in the paint, I’m sick. We are nowhere near being competitive
Opened this thread thinking it was about the NC game. All I found was another hate fest on Cal. It appears most of you can’t discuss anything for more than a minute without hating on Cal. Please continue but Op might want to change the thread title.
Minus them, you have seven titles and we have 10 titles.

Agree, and in 2014 when they made Louisville a 4 when they should have been a 2 seed and Kentucky a 8 when Kentucky should have been a 5 or 6 seed

FYI, I’m not supporting Cal. I’ll give him 1 more year with these new recruits. If next year is like this year, I believe it’s time for a change. I believe he’s earned that much as our coach. Am I happy with the last 3 years? No. I’ve been a UK fan since 1966 and I’ve seen great UK teams. I’ve also seen good, and not so good, and bad UK teams. That same people post the same threads and post the same every day full of hate and calling him childish names. It’s groundhog day everyday on RR and HOB. Cal will be here next year. If the team does well he may be here through the end of the contract. Posting the same negative crap daily isn’t going to change anything. Cal lives in your head and there is nothing you can do about and that‘s just the way it is. No one gets what they want when they want it all the time and that’s called life. You and your buddies act like a 2 year old kid not getting what they want all the time. Now carry on with your hate and childish name calling, if that makes you feel better, but Cal‘s not going anywhere until the end of next season. See out profess help that would help you all more than crying and bitching on rivals every day posting the same stu bs over an over again.. He did. Over and over again. Just like he did for Knight, Lamb, Monk, Murray, Knox, Booker, Herro, Quickley and on and on. Of course the play looks different when it's set up for Wheeler, Reeves or Frederick.
