You don't mention his horrendous performance at Oklahoma State the following year when he shot 8% from 3 point range. His free throw percentage also dropped to 57%.
No doubt he had a bad year at OK State. But he played under Sha for 2 years and had 2 good seasons.

Coleman isn’t terrible, but there are about 500 Isaiah Coleman’s in the portal, and 499 of them didn’t walk out the door when we needed him. Thanks but no thanks.
They would also be a lot cheaper options! Anyway, we are already full at the guard positions! We don't need anymore guards!

So what's the main difference between this guy's situation and the Charles Bediako deal that was a huge headache for Alabama last season?

Bediako played in college, left/declared for draft, and played in G League. Mariano has not yet played in college.

Coleman would be the 3. The starting 3
You are kidding right? He is only 6'3" if that and you want him to start at the 3 and have someone that small that can't make 3 pointers when that is what we desparately need at the small forward?

Are you smoking bad weed?

yeah, but I trust him more than you, me or the other posters.
All I am saying is you can trust him all you want just to realize he has made many mistakes...like the previous year when we were dead last in the BE with a team he put together.

So far I am not impressed with the group. It's just okay and okay does not spell major success like a 20 win season. There is still time for a major recruit or two to come but if that does not happen we are in big trouble. Sha and the GM are going to need to bring it home in the coming days.

I was told that Trey Patterson is available. Offensive mined forward. 1year of eligibility. His mother I think played for the HAll.
Well first off, he's terrible.

Secondly, he would be out of eligibility if the new rules are passed as it will be more than 5 years out of high school. Same for Mariano.

Kid was top 40 out of HS and has done nothing in his college career.

Just a weird/crazy coincidence for the IC haters: Coleman made the BE All Freshman team. Hines didn’t. LOL

I liked Coleman. Not going to judge his efficiency since we were so bad his sophomore year. He was our only real offensive threat and was doubled teamed much of the time. No idea what happened out in Oklahoma though. He was bad out there.

On paper, I'd be happy to have him back but I'll defer to those who know more about the non-basketball issues.

Wherever he lands, won't Coleman take a huge pay cut from last year? Guess that is the reality of today, but also the benefit to the school to

I don't want Coleman back either, but to bash him for "walk[ing] out the door when we need him" puts him in the same boat at Richmond, the Davises, Clark, Hines....." They all left when we needed them.

I think the concern more is all the stuff some of our insiders posted about Coleman and what was going on behind the scenes.

Granted that stuff is sometimes off, exaggerated or misconstrued. For instance whatever was happening with Richmond on the injury stuff created a perception that in retrospect doesn’t seem accurate at all.

He’ll def have to take a pay cut. I think it was rumored he got a little over a mill at Ok State. Probably in the 500-750k but who knows teams are overpaying everyone this year.
