Mike Pratt, Turpin, Epps, Mike Casey and many others fall into this category.

Unfortunately, the pedestrian fan will equate basketball prowess with scoring. The game has many more important facets.

He will never be known as one of the all-time greats, but my favorite was Jim Master. His outside stroke was pure "string music" (in my best Joe Dean voice).
His scoring suffered his Senior year when Bowie came back and the team became dominated by the Twin Towers and a sophomore Kenny Walker, but he will always stick out in mind for drilling 20-footers when they were still worth 2 points. I always wondered how much he would've averaged if he had played with the 3-point shot.

Couple more names mentioned that I'd like to second: Ed davender and deandre liggiins. I appreciated both those guys game.

Also, our most recent grads, Fitch and Daniels. Cornerstones of my favorite tubby team.

Derek Willis, I can remember during Christmas break his Sophomore year arguing with my friends about how good Willis would be before he left UK. I always enjoy bringing up how right I was on that one.

The only stupid things in this thread have been your comments.
I have to admit that I think you are like 12-15. Check thier stats. Average to below average starter numbers for the era they played in. Stats don't lie. I understand people like ky boys but cmon

Say what you will, but without Pat, we don't best Louisville, WV, or go to OT with Michigan State. When he got hot, he was as good of a shooter as anyone. I can't wrap my mind around your hatred of a Kentucky boy living out his dream at UK.

Anthony Epps

The toughest kid I ever witnessed in a UK uniform, totally unflappable. Even though he played with some of the greatest players in UK history, he stood out as the glue guy that knew he could win ANY battle.

Epps was tough, but I am guessing you do not remember Larry Stamper?

Dwight "Blur" Anderson wish I could post that clip where he brought UK to victory when we were down 6 with just a few seconds left and kept stealing it and scoring.
I have that game on DVDs, might not be quite as you remember it!

Archie Goodwin! Dude gets a really bad rap. Basically did everything Cal told him, and he if he played 3 years later with the focus on Impeding motion he would shoot 20 free throws a game!

Then you’re being argumentative just to be annoying.

Nobody said he was a super star or even super above average.
But for a KY kid, or not , he was def talented and played a decent roll on our team, some big games of which we wouldn’t have won without him.

It’s like your arguing just to argue. For the sake of arguing. My 8 year old does that a lot.

Jack Givens and Ronnie Lyons. I know I listed two but I just love both so much I couldn't separate them. Oh my Lord.

This was kind of my thinking as well. Oh well, not everyone will be happy all the time.

Which is funny since you started the attacks. I just said two players weren't very good. Go back and read who started what. I never liked A. Riddick's game either. OMG

Andre Riddick. He's my favorite non-star from childhood.

He played hard all the time, had great timing on his blocks and tried to tear the rim off the goal every time he dunked.

Actually you started the attack when you bashed Sparks. But, it's just whatever. Please just stop, it's getting annoying now.

Last question. If I don't care for certain UK players with how they play, that's bashing a public figure? Therefore you attack me and blame me for for the argument? Great logic. Btw I really did hate having Briscoe on the floor, didnt enjoy Rob Lock's game, loved Richard Madison but thought he was over rated, James Blackman was wildly inconsistent, and currently think PJ could do better. I'm just not one to love every UK player just because they play here. It's called analysis. You don't have to agree or like it. And no. It doesn't start an argument talking about players you like and don't like. It's the personal attacks YOU started with that causes them. Smh. Go back and read.
