The pass rush is a concern imo. And still not sold on either QB against better competition.

Iowa had 26 sacks last season. Seven today. Pretty early to make that statement

This is a TERRIBLE NIU team.

The offense is underwhelming.

Guys were posting a couple of days ago about their QB going to make such a huge difference. Guess not.....

It’s splitting hairs IMO. I prefer Brown, but Heck would be fine too. Neither quarterback is winning all conference honors.

This Iowa team has the potential for a special season. They just need to name a full-time starter tomorrow and be done with it. Having a quarterback competition linger for too long is going to create an unnecessary distraction. Pick one and live with it.

No…I would think they could give it one, or two, more weeks until the Michigan game and then pick the starter.

Kirk running it up to 40 is like most coaches running it up to 70.

Does it matter in a game where its 100degrees, or is it just something to complain about?

Individually, sure. I said earlier, though, we got a couple scheme sacks, and I think that's how we're gonna have to manufacture QB pressure rather than just relying on dominant Individual efforts from our front 4.

I think both Kirk (and definitely) Phil know this year's front 4 aren't gonna be the Black Swarm of years past, so they're gonna need to find different ways to create pressure and they did that today (4 sacks).

Can’t miss wide open receivers when you’re battling for a start job.

Hank was given some very easy pass plays to start the game, whereas that didn’t seem to be the case with Heck.

Concerns now that the game is finished:

-Health of the OLine
-Guys behind Moulton look suspect
-Consistent drops from WRs
-Kicking
-Red Zone packages looked bad
-Passing is the same old crap. Just not very good. Won't get any better if it doesn't improve.

Disagree on the passing. DJV catches that easy one in the end zone, and Heck leads Diaz over the other shoulder, and there's two more TD's. Very correctable stuff.

And I agree with Kirk. You cannot win in the Big Ten without being able to run the football. I don’t believe that contradicts what Kirk has traditionally said in the past about wanting to be balanced in terms of his offensive approach.

I didn't say anything contradicted being balanced.

Was at the game and stayed to the end. Most impressive thing to me was our O Line and our D Line. Our D Line has some beef.

Defense was solid. DL looked good, LBers solid and secondary also. Defense was a nice surprise.

Kamari's the man. Howard looked better than Heck, but both QB's missed wide open WR's. Diaz was solid, as was our TE's. OL is very good but Winters and Pieper went out. Hope they are OK.

Special teams look pretty good. Evans is our punt returner and Buhr came on as he settled in. Punting was good.
