There's some good news!

He sounds like a smart kid who fits Pike's system. I'm looking forward to see what he's able to do for us! Welcome to the Banks, Myles!

He's a big kid who looks physically fit. He's neither over/underweight. He's also fairly cognizant of what he is going to be asked to do on the court, based on interviews.

I'm hoping for something similar to what SHU's got with Nzei/Sanogo. Albeit, if he can make the midrange jump shot, that would be gravy.

gonna be huge for us. Grab us some boards. Big relief. Now bag Mathis, whom I have great feelings on after a surprise visit this weekend again

This is a terrific addition. We needed another big guy and I think Myles will be really good after he works with Jay Young and Van Dyke our strenth & conditioning coach. He did miss his entire junior year with a broken knee cap. That might have affected his jumping a bit but he will become solid muscle pretty soon. He already appears to pass and rebound well and has a nice touch from about 15 feet. I really like this addition. Welcome to RU Myles. Here is hoping we can add Jackson and Mathis real soon.

You can't teach cognizant. Welcome to the Banks, young man.

Short look at vid- great use of pivot and his ha coach had no problem inbounding to Johnson and letting him make decisions. A lot to like here. I would love to see this kid slay it on the court and use his full ride to graduate with an engineering degree. Let's go Johnson!

Do we have room for both now?

Yes. If this happened Jackson would be our last ship for next season. Mathis would be against 2018-19. That is of course if we got lucky enough to land both of them. That is asking for a lot but it would be nice.

Jackson is a completely different player. He would have to sit out this year while using a scholarship but that wouldn't be the end of the world; unless there's a real graduate transfer gem nobody knows about yet for this year?

Would love to lock down Mathis now. He would really start to round out 2018 although we must get another point guard as well. Should be interesting to see what happens.

He was down to earth in this interview from December 2016 - knew he had to demonstrate his ability since he sat out his whole junior year - but had academically high quality schools seeking him out

They are bringing in a point guard that they like this year. I'd imagine that at this stage of the build that they just want the best possible players regardless of position. In a couple of years they will have very specific roles that they will be looking for but this is a total ground up build.
