i like this pick up. I think hes going to turn out better than his rating due to the knee injury. Big body. Get him in our weight room asap.

The more I learn about Mykes, the more impressed I am. He is a legit student athlete who chose Rutgers equally for their engineering program as for the bball program. Dude also wants to continue taking Japanese in college.

That would be awesome if the whole team could learn Japanese and speak it during games.

Myles is official:

"We are thrilled to welcome Myles Johnson to our Scarlet Knight family," said Pikiell. "Myles checks all the boxes we look for in a student-athlete, as we aim to build our roster to compete with the best in the Big Ten and beyond. On the court, he's a big and long shot blocker with a tremendous skill set. His ability to pass and shoot will give our frontcourt a terrific boost in those areas. His upside is off the charts and our staff is eager to help him develop his game even further once he arrives on campus. Off the court, Myles is a high character young man who comes from a wonderful family. Myles is a highly motivated student who will be a terrific ambassador for not only the Rutgers Basketball program, but the University as a whole."

Johnson might be the player I am most excited about.

Something tells me he is ahead of Doorson at the moment. Just saying. So much potential.

Very interesting tidbit. That would be exciting

Just watch the tape. Very intriguing piece. He will be a 6 and 5 player by his sophomore year if he stays healthy. So much potential. And from a strength perspective, there is no one that will go through the Rutgers Program without getting stronger. You don't have to worry about that anymore. With Jordan, it was a question mark.

Let's go Johnson!

Thank you. Appreciate the info. I actually haven't watch his tape yet. I almost always do. A contributor in the post is a must

Check it out. Lots of fun to watch a big be mobile like Johnson is. Also, he has a shot. Similar to Gettys, but faster. Better instincts. Gettys was the best center Rutgers has had in six to seven years. If you have a minute, check the tape and tell us what you think.

Thanks.

I agree - if he gets here early (i.e., before the summer) and can be in the strength program, that would be a real bonus for this year.

Definitely. I think he will become fit enough to be able to play. Maybe use a redshirt, who knows. Still, the potential is striking. Johnson seems like a kid of high character that you want to build a program with.

You're right. I like this kid. Nice job by the staff finding him out in cali. He has a nice touch. Obviously not much film, but he definitely can be a contributor in the B1G

Watching his video he seems to have more moves near the basket and a much better shot than Doorson or Diallo. He also seems to catch & pass the ball well and has a nose for the ball. I could be wrong but I think he will play 12 minutes or more per game this coming season.

No question that Johnson is smart, talented kid who may make the jump to be a significant factor this year. It will be interesting to see how Shaq plays now that he should be finally healthy after foot surgery. I hope this tandem gives us a solid 5 for next year. Sa will get playing time at the 5 but I'd like to see Shaq/Johnson playing more minutes and keeping Sa as depth at the 4.

A foot injury is quite possibly the worst injury you could have as a sports player. Wishing for the best for Doorson, but not holding my breath.

Just saying. Like Knights1212 said, I expect to see 12 mpg from Johnson this year.
