Sorry, but this dude needs/deserves a separate thread.

He’s made more “business” decisions today than I’ve ever seen from any other Nebraska defender…EVER.

Nash will never play meaningful snaps for NU. Everyone knew that but his Dad.

Really, that dorky Rb had two good carries and the rest were lame. When you look back it will be that TE that had like 10 catches...that twas the issue.

DL losing some battles is one thing.

This thread is about a kid who REFUSED to tackle people. Dude needs to research the portal, because that crap doesn’t change.

CTB on the long TD run as well…JFC.

The tackling was horrendous today. They were in position to make the plays and a lot of the times, they didn't just miss they tackle, they whiffed completely on it.

We haven't handled the TE well at all this year. Wisconsin is one dimensional and yet we let them dictate. Our tackling, again/still is suspect. A freshman RB kills us and in spite of all of that we are still in the game.

Makes my skin crawl every time I see a Husker defender go up high to grab the shoulder pads, which is then easily shaken off for a missed tackle and a long gain. There are Pop Warner coaches that would bench a player for that.

So many just "reach" tackles. It's a little tough to tackle anyone when you're simply going for a side shot at their shoulder pads. Who ever teaches that should get canned.

I've never been a fan of Farmer. He's grabbed a couple nice interceptions in his career. I'll give him that. But he's a step slow and not very physical. His run fit a couple weeks ago (against Michigan I think) was about as bad as I've seen. And I watched Bo's defense give up two miles of yardage to Wisconsin backs.

I specifically watched Daniels early in the game. He was getting moved pretty easily on run plays early on. I didn't pay much attention to him later on. Wisconsin's front is huge.

He was absolutely horrible today. His tackling was as bad as I've seen in a long time. People give CTB **** for the shoulder dives and I get it. But man some of the stuff Farmer was doing was downright embarrassing..If I'm Travis Fisher I'd be embarrassed. I love Fish but one area his DBs have struggled over the years is tackling.

Sad thing is Farmer is plenty experienced and probably a lock as a starter next year.

My question is just how bad can guys like NPG be if Farmer can make plays like he did today and not get yanked. We take a huge step back on defense next year. I'm calling it now...

At least Nash is young and experienced. Wiscy has some grown *** men in that OL. Riley is simply a bad football player...period.Not sure of any other way to say it.

Husker nation is completely sold on Nash. They think he will be the next big thing at NG. I was never really impressed with him on defense based off HS clips. I think he would be a perfect OG. Like NFL type OG. On defense I think he will be an average NG. Nothing special...HOPE I'm wrong.

His competition was terrible in high school and I think in some regards he played down to it and probably got sick of getting cut blocked. One of the things that impressed me about the kid was watching him wrestle against he best wrestlers in the country. He was ragdolling other heavyweights in national tourneys. I think he's going to be a good player for us. Right kind of motor and work ethic from what I've seen. We'll get to see next year.

God I hope you are right. Just watching him he just appears to be a big strong kid. In college EVERYONE is big and strong. I don't see the explosive movements that I like to see from interior guys. Again...hope you are right. Maybe I'm missing it..

I just didn't get to watch him much today to judge. I think being explosive against those behemoths on that O line is maybe kind of tough. I saw Daniels get pushed around today too.

Losing Deontai hurt us bad. Farmer has a real lack of speed that concerns me but combining that with horrible tackling technique at the SAFETY spot is a bad combo. Need some other guys to step up in the offseason. Buford, Gifford, etc.

Agreed completely about the foot speed as well. Tbh him and Dismuke are both slow. I think Farmer even more so though. Like you said that's gonna be a tough combination to overcome. Probably a bit too late now but have to wonder if with his frame LB from day one might've been a better option.

I'm praying Buford and NPG can come along or we may even have to hit the portal at S also.

Im not even comparing him to Daniels. One is a Sr and the other still a pup. I actually thought Daniels played a damn good game today tbh. Maybe I need to rewatch. But he was one of the few guys really playing on the other side of the ball. Watch him on all the short yardage runs(Daniels) and you will see that initial explosion I'm talking about that I haven't seen from Nash yet.

I don't ever think being big or strong enough will be a problem for Nash. I see him able to adequately take on blocks in the future. Unfortunately that's all I see him as. Nothing outside of the OG/C box. Which again isn't bad. But we shall see how he develops.

I didn't get to watch the 2nd half and spent too much time in the first half venting on this board to really watch Daniels after the first couple of series. When I did watch him, he got pushed out of the play. I really shouldn't comment on it because I didn't watch enough of the game. I had another commitment that to take care of. Coach's video doesn't lie and he's a good player. No doubt we'll miss him.

In the national tournament, in the opening rounds he got pinned twice by two different kids in under a minute.

I'm pretty sure you're right. I seen enough high school film to figure him as an OG. Don' think he has good enough speed to be an effective NT/DT type.

All kids of course are subject to lots of improvement. Problem is he and his Dad have lifted like crazy prior to college, so he may be nearing plateaus already.

on ctb's attempted cross block tackle, did't he get up and run down the back as he crossed in for a td? my question is where was the rest of the defense on that play? everyone else just give up? headed to the sideline to change over with the extrapoint team?

See that's kinda what I'm seeing. I guess we could be wrong but I'd guess after this year it won't ever be a strength concern. He will be plenty strong. But he has to be able to get off the ball and show some explosion/quick first step at this level. I haven't seen it yet. I guess we both could be wrong and I hope we are because I'm not sure we have anyone behind him if Daniels goes pro ( I think he will). Riley is NOT the answer.

My guess is next year they end up moving Robinson inside to NG with Rogers and Thomas at tackles if they all stay. Just an opinion.

Nash will be a solid player. There's a reason why you don't see many freshman starting on DL in the Big Ten.

CTB might be the most overrated Husker in history. Dude cost us at least 4 games in his career. He is nothing more than a loudmouth who has played good at times. Inconsistent is an understatement. We will see where the NFL sees him at. I'm guessing that ouside of the Nebraska media, nobody really sees him as anything more than a 5th round or free agent pickup.

Do any of our D backs actually wrap up and tackle anymore?
You will have to ask Chins, who for 3 years everyone wanted him to be fired. Now, because we only give up 28 points a game and played some teams tough, he is Buddy Ryan. Defense cost us that one today. Along with the mentally checked-out QB.

CTB is Lamar Jackson 2.0. But he will play in the NFL, he’s got talent.
