He hits into a ground ball DP on a hit and run. The best he can give us at the plate is a strike out.

It definitely was unlucky! He hit it hard. Guess he was unluckily chosen to do a hit and run, or he would have had a nice base hit up the middle. Snake bit.

I have never rooted for an individual player as hard as I have rooted for Hatcher the last couple weeks. Only to be disappointed over and over.

If we hadn't been sending the runner from first there, it's a hit and we have two on with no outs. Instead, we wind up with two outs and nobody on. Certainly not Hatcher's fault.

To some here, the softball team’s 2-15 SEC record is Hatcher’s fault.

Lucky or Unlucky. Great defense or not, facts are facts. Out of the 7 batters who regularly start, he's last in average at .188 The next person above him is at .267 His on base% is last also at .248 Next above him is a whopping .361 His numbers aren't just bad they are atrocious. This is not a slump, it's a season long failure at the plate. It hasn't gotten better w/ ab's, it's worse. I'm sure he's a great kid, he's a Dog and tried hard but it's time to face the facts and reality.

Hatcher is a late game defensive sub. That's his role now. No point in complaining about his hitting as long as that's what he is.

He might have gotten a base hit out of that absent the hit and run call. However, my first reaction was that it was an "excuse me swing" and the ball didn't seem to be hit all that hard. I agree he appears to be unlucky, but this far into the season, it appears to be beyond just luck (or lack thereof). He doesn't look like he has a clue at the plate and really can't decide what he wants to do at the plate. One thing is almost universally true - he is an almost automatic out whenever he comes up to bat. I feel for him, I really do. But as with most any endeavor in life, you have to produce at whatever you attempt to do, or someone else will be there in your spot.

Hatcher was a better hitter when He didn't try to pull everything. he just rolls over to second or Ks.
