How is Power 5 football different than what your kids played? More talent yields more options. Your kids had limited options so it is easy to preach "stay the course" Gebbia was picked up by another P5 school within a week. It is sanctimonious to hold Gebbia to a higher standard than Scott Frost who did the exact same thing at Stanford. Did you raise your kids better than Carol Frost?

Stupid post, comparing the two scenarios are a complete joke! One transferred in the off season like what you are supposed to do, the other was a quitter and quit on his team after fall camp while season was going. Stop pretending to be a Nebraska fan and run along little guy

Been a Husker fan all my life, sat in the rain for hours waiting for the first game. I just think it is very unbecoming of a Husker fan to ***** about a kid leaving when we will gladly accept players transferring to NU at ANY time. Sour grapes bro and you are pissed about it. HA HA

And how should they have handled it? Lied to the kid like Nick Saban just to keep him around? I think Scott has too much integrity for that and Gebbia showed by his actions he doesn't have the character to be a Husker.
You’re obviously an average white guy who owns a mini van. Nick Saban is the GOAT.

.1.WHAT A GREAT CROWD!
2.Akron would have helped a lot
3. Colorado not bad at all
4. Gebbia's a quitter and I'm glad i raised my boys better than that....
Gebbia is not a quitter, he stepped up and made the obvious decision after NU changed coaches. If he left on the coach that recruited him you might have a point.
And a prideful statement about yourself is not pertinent to who Gebbia is. Have you ever met him?

From 1600 miles away. The crowd seemed to be jacked. The first two fumbles were killers, but the Huskers came overcame this deficit. I thought the O line definitely played with more energy. #2 was both dynamic and accurate. I thought the D for the most part played better to. The D line and backers were awesome. The D-backs still lose their way at times. Two dropped passes by veteran players hurt. Disappointed with the loss. Never like to lose especially to CU. I still believe the upside of having SF and staff is huge and look forward to the future.

Why would you call Gebbia a quitter? He wants to play. If Adrian was a junior, maybe Gebbia would have stayed. These guys are only young once. I've been out of H.S for over forty years and I miss playing football.

You don’t quit on your team once the season has begun, spin anyway you want that is cowardly. End if season then evaluate and transfer and do it the right away not when your team has a game a week away.

Gebbia made a business decision.

Had Frost & Co handled the situation like a lot of other successful coaches, he'd probably still be here
You mean not talented enough to be a scholarship quarterback of a power 5 college football team? Good job, you are like 99% of the other parents of the world. Gebbia exercised his right that he earned, no different than a pro ball player exploring his free agency options.

I understand this… But I think posts that have this slant unfairly give this young man a pass.

Here’s what I’m saying, take any other position on the football team… And go to the number two guy in the depth chart at that position. Let’s say that the number two guy has NFL aspirations… And he feels that sitting in the number two spot unfairly restraints and restrict him from a possible NFL career and of course the money that comes with that.

… What would happen if we “allowed mentally" to "give a pass" to every player that may have the same attitude that this young man had?

. Are we willing to give everybody the same wide berth? I.e.… If you do not get the position you think you deserve… Or the one most beneficial to you… Simply pick up your ball and go to another place…under the guise that "its what's right for ME..."

Would not that ANY other players reasoning be just as “understandably self-serving” as this young man’s?

What a complete disaster sports would be… Especially college football.

I think there is much more to be said on the subject… (but I will end my respectful thoughts with this).....More to be said, Especially concerning sticking it out when things aren’t going your way… And the benefit that life brings you when you have that kind of dedication and tenaciousness. I truly think that when you cut and run in anything that you’ve "committed to" regardless if it is a football team or you name it… You do your self and your life a vast and lasting disservice.

Just my opinion.

Go Big Red!

Actually, both of my boys DID/could have played college athletics, thank you, and one got beaten out by other players, thank you, so, yeah, I kind of get it....
Man, Sparty, I'm sorry for all the flack you're taking. We got a lot of sore losers here. Every time we lose, they turn on one another. Guess that helps them to cope or something.

I thought 20 year olds were adults, might want to tell the drill instructors they are not so they can go easier on them
20 year olds are young adults. Not like a 40+ year old.

This isn't the army nor are we talking about a coach going easier on a player. We're talking about an adult talking trash on a 20 year old just because he didnt stick around for his favorite team. Boohoo.

Lars Anderson tweet and SF response ”that is completely false”.

Turns out it wasn’t false at all. Anderson nailed the exact contract SF signed after meeting Moos in Philadelphia before the UCF Temple game.

You retyping it proves nothing. LINK

I'd say the difference is, Gebbia kept saying he was 100% Nebraska and that him and AM were there for each other no matter who won the job.

Now it sounds like you are getting angry at me... Refresh.... Did Frost quit right after getting beat out( I really DONT remember) because timing is pretty big in all this....
