I am pulling for Mount Airy 100 percent but I also think quite a few are picking MA big to stir up Hayesville, hoping they will play harder and rougher. That could get kids hurt on both teams because the Bears can play rough too.

They were not horrible. MA came out hungry. Hit QB so much he got knocked out of game at half. I hope the kid is ok. And MA is that good to make a team look that bad. Just watch next few weeks.

If a team is good...( in which N.Rowan was not) then the line protects their QB..and he doesn't get killed. Just because you have a few athletes doesnt make you a good team...Just look at Wilkes Central...not doubting MA's ability..i do think Hayesville will be MA's last running clock of the year.

one thing about good qbs, good pitchers, good teams, good tennis players, etc, is the ablility to forget the last play and concentrate on the next.
North Rowan is a good team, they had 7 wins over some good teams, they were second in their conference I believe.
When Mt Airy had them 42 to 0 late 2nd qt, North Rowan scored on a very nice long pass play and stopped the running clock risk.
What did the Bears do, forgot that play and in 3 plays (I believe it was, not sure) they put the ball in Tyler Mason's hands and made the score 50 to 7 at the half.
They played the third and 4th quarters with 2nd and jv players with a running clock.
Buzzcoach has said several times that this years Bears team has gotten better through out the season. I also believe that.
North Rowan was/is a good team, Mt Airy was just a lot better last Thursday night. Hopefully that will continue.

55-7 with N.Rowan being more athletic..makes them an OK team. Give East Surry that kind of Athleticism as N.Rowan has..then they would win States...N.Rowan is OK...but underacheives in 1a....they were recently 2a...Give Mt.Airy N.Rowan's athleticism and they would definitely totally rival Tarboro. I will easily go out on a limb and say that demographically N.Rowan top to bottom should be more athletic that Mt.Airy year in and year out. I say they underachieve.

Bears came out of the locker room on a mission...very focused with an excellent game plan. Still gotta clean up some pre-snap penalties. Hayesville and the remaining teams in the West will be difficult to beat if we keep shooting ourself in the foot.

Your QB and running backs are only as good as their offensive line. You can have Patrick Maholmes under center, but he isn't worth anything if he doesn't have a line to protect him. A team isn't good if their line is terrible.
