There was clearly something wrong schematically. It wasn’t JUST the DB’s lack of skill. There’s no way they just continuously got burned by #5 because they aren’t good enough. There was some sort of confusion that led to those busts.

Wasn’t so much the CBS but the nickel/safety positions were awful.

Agree, the scheme was the problem. TV commentators kept commenting on how close to the line of scrimmage our safeties were playing. Secondary played quite well against the #1 team in the country until our second half "adjustment" to play soft at the corners. They are capable if coached/schemed properly.

For those of you who were complaining about the lack of press coverage, you see why we can’t. Unless these corners get better, we will have to give cushion so we don’t give up so many deep balls. Yes, I am aware that our safeties were out of position, but they were running right by our CBs.

Makes you realize how good those guys from last year really were.
