Correct! Had split time with Tom Sorley before Sorley secured the starting gig. But that was not Sorley’s night, so TO made a call to the bullpen.

I remember very well the summer following the '76 season. Ferragamo was gone so there was a lively debate on who, Sorely or Garcia, was going to be the starting QB for the first game of '77 season. Well I believe Garcia got the nod. Ended up not mattering much. The Huskers lost to Warren Powers and Washington State. Ouch.

One of my biggest arguments with my wife was over that game... I threw something at the tv in the first half and she stormed off to bed, saying” it’s a GAME!!!”, to which I said “
No, it’s not!!!”
