I feel bad for my University's program not Cal. He was the coach and his staff, that offered these kids.
Taveion Hollingsworth is now a senior at Western Kentucky. He is/was definitely good enough to start for UK for 4 years...stabiity...no drama..think about it. Had a chance to bring in the kid from Belmont who would have lent stability and great sound fundamentals...can hit free throws and score. Had a chance to get Justin Powell and now he is starting and flourishing at Auburn...You know there are others. Has Cal had a stretch of bad luck, perhaps some of it brought on by himself, in kids leaving before they were ready...yes, but a mix of very solid D-1 kids from the state sure could have brought some stability that absolutely does not exist.
This post should be required reading for the next week by everyone on the board

I believe with the new transfer rule passed a few days ago you can transfer as a senior and be eligible for the next year. And all seniors are granted another year of eligibility regardless and he would pretty easily get another immediate waiver.

How deep do problems run at UK?
Tucker: Pretty damn deep. Off to the program's worst start in almost 100 years, the Wildcats are in full-blown meltdown mode. None of the players wanted to speak to the media after Saturday's loss to North Carolina, so injured sophomore Keion Brooks did it. Not a great sign. And sources close to the program indicate Calipari is currently in a power struggle with multiple other key players on this roster.

Interesting because I thought it was common knowledge that all seniors get an extra year due to the waiver. Although don't blame him a whole lot as Seniors and UK basketball don't go well together.

didn’t you call people dumb yesterday in the kentucky kid at Xavier thread when you were saying how good could he be when he’s only played in 2 games, but was actually coming off an injury?

So, someone really believes a guy who just transferred here for his senior year (and to get to the NBA) and who is set to graduate at the semester will now decide to say forget it, transfer to another school, sit out next semester, wait through the summer and then play again NEXT season?

Yeah, that seems REALLY likely.

When you allow the program’s legacy to be discarded for the sake of several highly questionable agendas, the end result should not be a surprise.

and still, there will be people defending this model.
Yep.....Cal got woke. Let Brooks talk about Rupp and changing the name. Did the video. Letting politics into your program like this was a bad idea.
I don't want politics in my sports from any side or agenda. I just want to watch the game and my team and hope they win.
it alienated a part of the fanbase imo. Now, this season looks like a trainwreck. Cutting short pree conferences. Mocking fans. Players visibly upset on the sidelines. Now one has left, and more may come.
Cal is the face of the program. Face the music grown man.

It is 100% stupid to think Sarr would transfer. Explain to me the rationale behind a guy who is a senior and ready to graduate who would say F it and go sit out somewhere until next season.

Where is the guy who usually covers Coach Cal's monday night show. We really need your services tonight. Or will it be an assistant doing the show.
Not asking to argue or be rude. You seem to be more patient and willing to wait for the team to get better. How do you feel about hearing all of this?

WE ARE FINE.

What can go wrong when you sell out your program to entitled, spoiled, coddled athletes who don't even want to be here?

Sure am Glad we got Calipari instead of every other coach in the world that doesn't do it this way!

Congrats Cal. You built this monster now it's gonna eat you...
You know, it's like the old saying ...(paraphrasing) everything's okay as long as you have the wolf by the ears, but as soon as you let go of one, he eats your face.

It really is a shame, too. I was really looking forward to a good team this year as a nice distraction from all of the other 2020 BS, and instead we get this crap. Pity.

Well, I know that his 2 reasons for coming to UK were to compete for a championship and get on NBA draft radars. Both of those objectives have failed miserably and I don't even know if he gets a G league shot at this rate. You think it's far-fetched for a kid who spent a couple of years at Wake Forest and then a trainwreck at UK, to transfer again to compete for a championship?

Tucker is usually pretty solid in his coverage of UK sports. He doesn’t usually say anything if it’s not from solid sources. I used to follow his stuff a lot but he kind of turned into Rex Chapman lite and I haven’t been paying as much attention. I’d say he knows something.

Yeah, I think it's 1000% farfetched. It makes absolutely zero sense.

Ky Bass will defend Cal to his grave. It's obvious he has not played much basketball. He thinks everyone is out to get Cal. He loves Cal more then UK, where most of us are just the opposite. There are a few others like him, but at this time, their smart enough to keep their thoughts to themselves, instead of getting into a Pi$$ing contest with fans who know basketball. When he told me on one post, that Kentucky is not producing good High School players, I knew he didn't know what he was talking about. He should go to the state tournament, or some high school games, where the kids give 100%, unlike the players at UK, PRESENT TIME PLAYERS.

A few diffetent things could come of this...

Cal gets a dose of humility.

The team cuts out some cancer in chemistry.

Some guys who need to play may be able to play.

We lose a lot of games or it is addition by subtraction and we win a bunch of games.
We already suck so I’d rather be awful with guys who want to play here

Anytime you bring in 10 or so new players without a starter coming back and start losing on the biggest stage and brightest lights this is bound to happen. Cal didn't have multiple players bolting for the league at his other stops, why must he run this program that way, starting a new team every year is not how it has to be. It seems like nobody can even stand to think about being here over two years even if they are not 5 star players. I'm afraid it's going to get worse before it gets better.

You must be grinning from ear to ear today. And I don’t blame you. Last circus I saw like this had a Tilta-Whirl and a Yak Lady.
