How deep do problems run at UK?
Tucker: Pretty damn deep. Off to the program's worst start in almost 100 years, the Wildcats are in full-blown meltdown mode. None of the players wanted to speak to the media after Saturday's loss to North Carolina, so injured sophomore Keion Brooks did it. Not a great sign. And sources close to the program indicate Calipari is currently in a power struggle with multiple other key players on this roster.

With this oddball year and not getting the good side of being a CBB player as well, wouldn’t surprise me to see a couple guys opt out to start prepping for the draft or joining a g league team. I mean, they could sell it as the system plus COVId protocols and it’s safer to work out 1 on 1 w a trainer.

This is what I'm thinking. I wouldn't be surprised to see Cal 'opt out' and just do a couple more pro days for the guys.

if you're 5-0 and the coach tells you to run thru a wall and you'll be a millionaire in less time than it takes to have a baby, you do it

when you're 1-5, well , the English teacher in 8th grade can coach a team to 1-5.

there are a bunch of hanger on's that were expecting to get paid by their meal ticket in 6 months and that is going tits up.

The fact that Cal has power struggles with 18 year old kids over his team reflects he doesn’t deserve $10 mil a year. Lmao what a joke. Some ”leader” he is.

also, I thought after 13 we weren’t gonna get the program hijacked anymore? 😂. Cal can’t leave fast enough.
I agree, maybe if he coached more and stopped acting like their agent to trying to get them into the NBA he would have won a few more N.C.'s by now.

Let em go. Season is a shot show already. Don’t even care. Matter of fact, I’d like to see just how bad it can get.
One and none might be record this year

1 and 25 only 20 more losses that would be record never to get broken

It’s ok, nothing to see here. Kentucky just isn’t for everyone. We’ll turn it around and make a deep run! In Cal I trust! There’s nobody better out there that we could get and never will be, I want Cal on the sidelines on a walker. I mean he beat pitino like a drum so he’s gotta be great!

Who the hell does Cal think he is , getting in a power struggle with these guys . It’s a PLAYERS FIRST system . Dont you remember Cal ? It’s what you’ve been saying for years . Know your place man .

They could afford to lose Allen based on Cal’s refusal to play him. For the kids sake I hope he goes somewhere else and has a terrific career, he’s never going to have a chance to do it here.
Tucker said he's heard several players... we could lose allen but if its more than that... we're gonna foul out by half time

Didn't coach hall tell coach cal that 10 years was about the limit to coach UK before everything goes south?

He said that's the most the coach could handle because of the pressure. This is a totally different situation.

Cal set this up because he fell in love with the idea that he could put tons of guys in the league and he forgot what got him this job in the first place. He used to be great at developing athletic 3 and 4 star kids and winning games. Memphis wasn't a pro factory, neither was U Mass. He's now being eaten alive by his own marketing program.

Would transfers and opt outs and a 15 loss season get Cal to sit back and re-evaluate how things are being done?
Let's hope for all of that then.

This season has been a disaster so far. I hope this all gets worked out. This program can’t afford to lose players. Seeing that it’s key players worries me. Kenny Payne not being on our staff is hurting more then people realize. He was always the players favorite coach on staff. I’ve read that numerous times.

I wonder if there will be a live feed of the door again? What comes around, goes around, Cal!

I feel bad for my University's program not Cal. He was the coach and his staff, that offered these kids.
Taveion Hollingsworth is now a senior at Western Kentucky. He is/was definitely good enough to start for UK for 4 years...stabiity...no drama..think about it. Had a chance to bring in the kid from Belmont who would have lent stability and great sound fundamentals...can hit free throws and score. Had a chance to get Justin Powell and now he is starting and flourishing at Auburn...You know there are others. Has Cal had a stretch of bad luck, perhaps some of it brought on by himself, in kids leaving before they were ready...yes, but a mix of very solid D-1 kids from the state sure could have brought some stability that absolutely does not exist.
