Marshall is playing the EIGHTH best team, from a mid-major conference, in a bowl game...

The 11 am brunch bowl. I think a few sites have it listed as the bottom 5 bowls that nobody cares about.

It's the poster child of the fact there are too many bowl games.

Cactus bowl was ranked the 28th, St. Pete the 35th, I don't think anyone really cares about either bowl to be truthful. Cactus bowl is on late as hell to.

I didn't really change the subject I was responding to the above mentioned
The subject is you playing the #90 in the country, who is the eighth best team in a mid-major conference. WVU had nothing to do with the subject..

They tied with the 6th best conference record, so they finished 8th? Don't worry, I know math is hard.

Apparently too hard for you to figure out rankings. Good thing you are great at kissing ***..

P. S. Beating your chest about playing the "tied for sixth place" mid-major is pretty ******* pathetic...

Well, you are a long way from playing P5 champs, we'll just leave it at that.

[insert Murder City Bowl trophy here]

We are one year removed from playing a G5 champ in a bowl. How many now since you played a P5 champ in one?

Beating your chest again about Doc and Mike pussing out an CHOOSING to play a MAC team in a bowl game. Hahahahahaha!

Why not play NIU? They were the top team from Illinois last year and were higher ranked than the Illini, made more sense to play them then a scrub 6-6 team from a weak Big 10.

Illinois was able to beat Western Kentucky. I guess that is why you dodged them. Marshall is Western Kentucky's *****...

Well, we are are a G5 school. We are competing against other G5 schools, and doing it well. How are you guys doing against P5? Oh wait, never mind I checked for myself. You were 5-5 against your peers this year. Can't get anymore average than that.

Talk about changing lanes... Setting that aside, you play in a conference that might be better than the Sunbelt (just barely), you beat ONE team with a winning record the ENTIRE season -- is that "doing it well?" As bad as things went for WVU this year, they were much worse for the herd who played a paper soft schedule and still couldn't run the table.

But hey, you're "doing well"

Making fun of only beating one team with a winning record? That sounds a whole lot like your 1988, "playing for a national championship", greatest season ever. Did anyone you beat that year besides Syracuse have a winning record? You played 4 or 5 3-8 teams that year. Oh wait, I guess Pitt did go 6-5, so in your regular season you played 9 teams with a losing record. That's your greatest season ever, made possible because you played a combination of bad teams and teams that just had really bad years.

To bad it's mathematically impossible for that luck to be reproduced in the Big 12 or you might get to "play for another national championship".

Pull the string and an excuse comes out...

So by using that example of WKU beating us and Illinois beating them we dodged Illinois? I suppose the 2013 edition of MU who best Maryland who throttled WVU we beat you?

Do you realize (I'm guessing not) how stupid that argument is?
"We've never beaten you, but we're better than you anyway because we play worse competition and have a better record against horrible teams, while you have an average record against the best teams"

WVU didn't have the luxury of playing Maryland's second string, like Marshall did...

BALTIMORE -- A.J. Hendy scored on a 28-yard interception return and recovered two fumbles as unbeaten Maryland forced six turnovers in a surprisingly easy 37-0 victory over West Virginia on Saturday.

Off to their best start since 2001, the Terrapins (4-0) led 30-0 at halftime after limiting the Mountaineers (2-2) to two first downs and picking off two passes.

It rained hard in the third quarter, and many of the fans at the home stadium of the Baltimore Ravens decided they'd seen enough. Only a few thousand were in the stands when West Virginia twice lost fumbles inside the Maryland 25.

Didn't take dolemite long to leave this thread. Bye Felicia. :victory:
Sorry, Private Pyle. Some of us actually have a job. Congrats on beating Maryland's second string in a meaningless bowl game. It was your biggest win in over a decade, as pathetic as that may be...
