Look once again sorry I even asked. I had seen on other boards people saying they would (which tells how much of a fan you really are) and was just interested to see what folks on here would say. I’ve deleted the post as well so no one would get offended any longer.

I didn't see a problem with the question either

I guess some did. I was just curious. Duke is all I’ve loved since I was about 5 years old and nothing will change that. Once again if anyone took it the wrong way I’m sorry.

Sorry if I misunderstood. Now that you've explained I understand. You have to understand that since I've been a Duke fan I've seen Duke from the point as the premier team in the country to the point that folks laughed at us. OFC

Bill Self is in the HOF

As someone who hates KU, I don't think Self is dirty per se. But his program at KU has had its share of questionable people associated with it. The players have had all sorts of run ins with the law and school administrators for the last 15 years.

Looks like no one will actually get in trouble unless they have to play the wire taps in court. Jay Bilas said it’s not likely they’ll just release the tapes out to the public.

Am I the only on who thinks it's a bit ironic that we have been calling them The Cheats for years and now it turns out there's a possibility that we MAY be in hot water as well? I am not saying they're innocent, but I feel like their fans are going to have a field day with us if something does come out of this.

I find it ironic that numerous agents were found and got in legal trouble at unc around the same time this fbi investigation supposedly started.

I would be surprised if the teams impacted are Duke, UNC, UK, Kansas, Oregon and Notre Dame.

Here's why, and it actually has nothing to do with the program cleanliness.

Following the announcement of arrests, it took the media about two hours to figure out Louisville was one of the schools mentioned, although no one affiliated with UofL was arrested.

Clearly, that shows media members had connections from whom to get information and there were those in the investigative side willing to share it.

All these months later, Rick Pitino and UofL are still the biggest names to come out of this.

Kansas is an Adidas school so if they were involved in these shenanigans I have no doubt they would have been outed as I'm sure the FBI has looked into Adidas involvement with that school in light of what was found in Louisville.

Kentucky, Duke and UNC are the biggest names in the sport. If their names were going to drop, they would have been the lead not the follow-up.

Oregon is basically the University of Nike. With all the dirt surrounding Adidas' funding of UofL, there is no doubt Oregon would have been heavily scrutinized.

I included Notre Dame as they have an incredible national presence and a pristine image. They may be a football school but the school is the thing with the Irish.

Not to say the above-mentioned programs are above reproach but just that they would be such obvious targets that I feel they would have been revealed by this point.

I am as frustrated as anyone at this mess. My point was that they have been the ones cheating for years and now it seems like there is a possibility that we may have been caught up in it too. The article just seemed very ominous. I am not saying that we have been cheating, and I really do not think we have, it's just until this whole matter passes, or the information regarding the case is released, it is a little unsettling.

While there is always a possibility of anything, you seem to be leaning more toward likely than possible. I haven't read anything to indicate or support that so I'm curious as to where you're getting your information.

In the article it just said that Hall of Fame Coaches and top tier programs would be affected, and I do not think anyone here would disagree that K is a HOF coach and Duke is a top tier program. Like I said, I do not think Duke is guilty of anything here, however, because Duke is one of the relatively small number of schools that match that description, it is at least a tiny bit worrisome until the whole situation passes. There are several other schools that I would imagine have more to worry about, but until I know for certain that Duke is not one of them, I will not be completely comfortable.

I get what you're saying, but you're citing an anonymous source that apparently spoke to Pete Thamel about teams and coaces who may have committed NCAA violations, not who have run afoul of the law.

Taking that into accont, don't you think if one of the individuals in question was Coach K that would have been leaked during the course of these investigative articles and conversations?

College basketball is only slightly above a niche sport and Coach K is as close to a household name to all of America as it gets. I have a hard time he'd not get name-dropped if he had been caught up in this.

North Carolina men's basketball coach Roy Williams said he feels "very comfortable" that his program will not be implicated in the FBI's ongoing probe into widespread corruption in college basketball and its recruiting.

"If the phone rings at night, I'm not worried about that," Williams told reporters on Friday of the FBI's investigation. "I may worry about a lot of other things, but it ain't about that."

The Tar Heels, coming off a national championship campaign, most recently were under a nearly three-year NCAA investigation into academic improprieties at the school. The program was officially cleared of any wrongdoing in the fall, and Williams expressed frustration at last year's Final Four about how the dark cloud affected recruiting.

ESPN and Yahoo Sports reported earlier this week that numerous high-power programs were part of the FBI's investigation and could face significant NCAA sanctions because of wrongdoings. The probe became public in September when the FBI arrested several basketball coaches; Louisville's involvement led to coach Rick Pitino's firing.

Although Williams is confident UNC is in the clear, he estimated that the scope of the investigation was indeed far-reaching.

"When the FBI gets involved, it's a different level. There's no question about that," Williams said. "When you're talking about four guys (who were arrested), we've got 351 programs and everybody has four assistants, so it's a lot of people. I would guess some other things are going to drop at some point."

North Carolina plays Louisville Saturday night at 8:15 p.m. ET

I believe hof coach roy williams. He said basically the same thing about the NCAA investigation and we see how that came out. unc is a powerful institution . Source is USA Today Sports. OFC

Wait are you saying you think ND will get caught in this? I believe they're one of the cleanest programs in the country and other coaches voted Mike Brey as running the 2nd cleanest program in college behind Beilein

No, that's not remotely close to what I said. I said of all the programs in America I am highly doubtful the ones mentioned would be among those implicated. I then stated my reason for naming each one.

Having been in D1 and tried to navigate NCAA rules...its extremely difficult. If the FBI are working with the NCAA then transgressions of the rules may be uncovered that were totally accidental. Now will the NCAA enforce some sanction on those? Maybe, but if the investigation is just around the payment of players then I feel confident this wont affect our program. An inadvertent phone call or email is still a violation ....every program violates the rules at some point deliberately or by accident - its an inherent part of trying to navigate the mass of NCAA regulations

Don't know how many of you are watching the UL/unc game on ESPN but on the info band that runs across the bottom it showed hof coach roy williams saying that although he is confident that unc is not involved in the FBI investigations he wouldn't be surprised if several programs are involved. Now why would he make a statement like that? Does he know something the rest of us don't? Why even say something at all ? Sounds like an arrogant unc statement to me. This is typical hof coach roy williams. When things are going his and unc's way he comes out with things like this. haven't heard any other college coaches commenting on it. Or could it be that maybe he is a little concerned and is trying to direct the wind. OFC

I am watching the game Sky but actually didn’t notice the ticker, but I hope deep down inside it’s that he and his program are worried and trying to redirect the wind.

When news about the FBI probe broke and coaches were arrested, I found myself wondering if we had done everything by the book. A few extra phone calls or text messages don't concern me but wiring money to bank accounts to land recruits does....I don't really think we need to do that but stranger things have happened!! I believe K is smarter than that...

Would anyone be surprised if Ol Roy, or higher ups at UNC, pulled a Phil Fulmer and threw other programs under the bus so they could skate on the academic fraud case?

Could just be coincidental timing, but these investigations seemed to start while UNC was doing everything they could to save their a$$es. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if the info that led to these investigations came out of Chapel Hill.
