What about Dachon Burke? No mention of him in Washut's tweet but stating Davis only scholarship player expected to return.

I could never understand why Heiman was recruited in the first place. He seemed like an NAIA prospect out of high school.

Miles let a lot of good in-state players get away (Patton, Thomas, Daum). I don't blame him for taking a chance on a local 6'11 kid.

Heiman is not a fit for Hoiberg's style at all, so it would make sense for him to move on.

Heiman is not a B1G level player, I think it would be best if he moved on to a school like UNO or SDSU

Heiman was a better looking prospect coming out of high school than Daum and we all know how much crap Miles got for not recruiting Daum. Never mind that Creighton didn't recruit Daum either. When you have a 7 footer with decent ball skills in your backyard and that backyard is in Nebraska you damned well better offer the kid. Heiman should have never been forced in to action this year. He should have redshirted and been given an unlimited gift card to the pasta bar at Olive Garden for a year. I expect Heiman to eventually turn in to a reasonably good player for somebody.

Totally agree.

One of my biggest frustration with Miles was his either inability to, or his unwillingness to develop a “project.” BH is a project, but he has skills. He needs time, and it’s insanity to declare a kid a failure after 1 year. It was a shame that the roster was not deep enough for him to redshirt this past season.

BH is a good player just not ready for BIG 10 play being a tad bit under weight . find the weight room and the lunch room and he could be a damn good player. should maybe look at The Summit or some other D1 schools that are not quite as good as the power 5s.

I agree as well. The problem isn't that Heiman was added to the 2018-19 roster, it's that no JUCO or grad transfer big man was added that would allow Heiman to redshirt. Hoiberg may attract enough talent to drive Heiman to the end of the bench, at which time he may want to move on. But until that happens I would favor keeping him around.

Have we seen anything official on Heiman yet? I think he'll play at least some for Hoiberg if he stays. Some respected internet Husker reporters have gotten their noses bloodied for some premature erroneous tweets over the past several months.

Would have liked him redshirting next season and staying in the program..

Good luck where ever he decides.

People keep saying he should have redshirted should realize that is Fred thought that he would redshirt him this upcoming season!

If HCFH wants to RS him next year I hope he takes the opportunity.

Yes, his name is in the transfer portal.

Wanted Heiman to redshirt and hang out with War Daddy Up all season. Best of luck to him, go to UNO and win the Summit.

That would be great, but Duval doesn't work with the basketball program.

Sounds like Heiman was asked to leave by Hoiberg. Not surprised, I'm sure after Fred put him through some workouts he realized Brady was a round peg in a square hole. I'm sure it's rough on Heiman but he would have been riding the pine the next 3 years had he stayed. Hopefully he can find somewhere he'll be a difference maker.

honesty is the best policy. Brady move on Freddy doesn't feel you have the skill level to play in this league so he was doing what's best for both parties.

one hour before his final? Wow. That was bad timing. Dang I feel for the kid. Welcome to big time basketball.

Do you see tickets being easier or harder to get next year with Fred and a whole new team coming in?
Thinking about getting season tickets

So as of right now we have 0 (zero) basketball Center or power forwards on the roster. Any chance Fred gets one via transfer yet for 2019-2020?

Jayce Johnson from Utah visited, but didn't commit. He's visiting Marquette this weekend. I think we have a good chance here.

There were two transfer forwards from UNLV who visited for the spring game, that haven't committed yet. It's possible they could get a waiver to be eligible next year since UNLV had a coaching change.

I thought the portal was just for scholarship athletes, but apparently one of our walkons put his name in.
