This is a tragic case, period. I’m not going to try to pretend to understand how much pain the family is in.

A policy question: how many us citizens die at the hands of illegal immigrants each year? How much would building the wall cost? VS
How much are we willing to spend to reduce the 10,000 deaths per year due to drunk driving?????

I don’t have all the answers, but let’s not pretend that immigration is the root of all evils.
Illegal immigration is breaking a Federal law. But why would immigration ever be considered “evil”? Unless, of course, the sole purpose of the person immigrating is to harm U.S. citizens. Also, who said anything about building a wall? I don’t have the answer either.

Sadly there's no capital punishment in Iowa.
He will get what is due him in prison. Prison inmates have families.
Nah. He'll join a Hispanic gang and they'll protect him. Then some day he'll "blackout" again and kill a guard. It's just the way it is.

During my Dad's tenure as Cedar Cty Attny, he was official coroner.

Someone got run over by a combine on the highway, and Dad got there to see the dead man's Dad scooping up his sons arms/body up after he got flattened, dead.

This **** happens everywhere. RIP.

Getting real sick and tired of reading these stories, if these people were any value to their own societies they wouldn't be here in the first place. I'm tired of seeing this country turned into Latin America's dumping ground.
Do you respond about others who commit crime who are born and raised here? I think all heinous crimes are despicable. But I’m not going to claim that immigrants (yes even undocumented ones) commit crime at any higher rate than citizens.

I’m going to say to those crimes they should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. But I don’t have to ask why is it that there are more than enough criminals born within the US borders that we have leaders within this nation willingly allowing more in? Are all illegal immigrants, they aren’t entering or staying here within legal process, vicious criminals no but there is a natural percentage that will be, like any group of people. So why look at the percentages and say yep come on in?

Any business that is caught with an employee with such status, 1% of their Gross receipts for every year, or part thereof, the person is/was employed and 6 months of jail time. Punish the employers with money and jail time. Get E verify fully up and running.

Who should we deport first?

1. White Americans born into the privileged class, who have wasted their schooling and opportunities, and are now addicted to heroin and meth.

2. Hispanic Immigrants who were born into abject poverty, moved thousands of miles through terrible conditions to find work necessary for the US economy to function, the same jobs that the white people above can't work because they can't pass drug tests in consecutive weeks.

It may be that those castigating immigrants are themselves white drug addicts and wish for an easier time getting jobs, but the FACTS show that poor whites do not work the production jobs necessary for our food and consumable products to be priced at low levels, nor do they work efficiently enough in the service industry.

We had a big company wide meeting today and yesterday. Brought everybody in town from all the offices. This situation got brought up and we were all obviously saddened. A guy I work directly with (remotely) was noticeably more distraught.

Later in tonight, after dinner a a drink. I open up about a buddy who’s Grandpa is probably going to pass tonight or tomorrow and that I called and said goodbye to him over a break today, so I was just really ready to be done with the day. I mentioned how my buddies grandfather had to bury a child 30 years ago and that I’m glad they’ll be reunited. And said I just cannot fathom the idea of burying a child. My coworker, who I’ve worked with for years now, says he had to bury his son. It just blindsided me. And damnit if it this poor girls passing didn’t just tear him open again and it made since why he was so distraught when the news broke.

I’m rambling. But damn this tragedy and damn the bastard who did caused it.

The goverment does go after some small contractors and enforce e-verify (as a show). But they won't touch large packing plants or farming operations, and they sure won't go after sub contractors who employee most the illegals.
It's kinda like the government wants whats going on to be going on. Because if we can travel half way round the world and shut down pakistan's border yet not have sane border controls in the US, it's by design, especially with all the technology that would make it easy.

Pretty easy. Deport people who enter our country without permission. The US economy will just have to do without. We have other laws to deal with meth addicts etc..

How can you deport a US citizen?

If they are all only looking for work and to escape abject poverty then how did this happen?

Pretty sick individual. Says he blacked out, doesn’t remember anything.

I wonder if his he will be turn turned to an affirmative defense of mental incapacity for those several minutes he was "blacked out"? It sounds as though he did, more or less, confess, though. If he did remember any details (he did remember how to drive and where he disposed of the body, though) of the crime, then did he really "black out".

As I said in another post, though, if he blacked out, how did he remember how he stuffed her body in the trunk, how did he remember how to drive, and how did he remember enough to later tell authorities where he disposed of the body? I ask these things just wondering if he will try to put up some sort of affirmative defense claiming incapacity.

We should pass a law to let the Tibbets family (and any similarly placed family) to file a wrongful death suit against employers who paid her killer to be in this country.
The employer is probably a US citizen anchor baby, who subcontracts. and can be retired in mexico tomorrow if need be. I don't think this guy was working for micron.

I don’t have all the answers, but let’s not pretend that immigration is the root of all evils.
lets not pretend immigration and the illegal activity going on at the southern border are the same thing then, either.
The fact that you dont differentiate proves that you know you are wrong in this debate, and you have to alter what your political opponent is saying to make them sound worse and rationalize your irrational view that we shouldnt have borders.I
Illegal immigration is wrong and is genuinely harmful to society for a host of reasons.
Controlled, legal immigration is not the same thing. And you know it.

That is what frustrates. We need those with the authority to use it correctly and they aren’t.

That guy in Colorado that killed his wife and daughters needs to be deported too . Get them all out of here
So, since natural born citizens and legal immigrants commit crimes, we should let millions of people in illegally and just roll the dice, and if they commit a crime who cares since americans do it too?
when the alternative is the colorado guy is the only murder story and molly is still alive because this pos was not in the country to kill her.
Anyone choosing a is messed up. And theres pekple in this thread choosing a.

Exactly. Just ask the Native Americans. If you can find one.
good point, they had terrible borders.

Im not against people here on legit work visas with green cards and such and it all updated and kept track of, it is a problem when anyone in the world can just waltz into the country and start murdering young girls.
I would hope reasonable people could see that.

Let me be clear. I'm not a liberal hack that's trying to do the whole boo boo we're immigrants that took over their land horses**t. What I'm saying is if you value what you have you protect it. The natives should know better than anyone.

Simply put: I agree with your point.
