I remember Cal saying that if they had a fast break opportunity and MKG didn't get the ball, someone was going to the bench.
What’s your ego-charged damage?I don’t know where you guys come up with some of this stuff, it’s almost like you were watching a different team than me in 2012.
MKG was a great finisher at UK …whether it be off the drive or fast break …and generally (but obviously not always) with no charge called.
No. It’s just that you’re plodding and unobservant and abusive as usual. What? Did you and I live in alternate universes in 2012?
^^^
That!
I have no idea what you’re talking about, but I certainly don’t remember MKG being called for an inordinate amount of charges. And I didn’t miss one second of that season. Maybe you watched a different team than meNo. It’s just that you’re plodding and unobservant and abusive as usual.
I recall nothing of the sort. I’m sure it may’ve happened a few times, but there was no issue that season with him getting a “disproportionate” number of charges (whether the calls be good or bad). Hence why he was one of the most effective finishers in UK history. And he also got called a disproportionate times for charging when he wasn’t charging.
The sad part is if they would have left it alone, he would have been a better shooter over time. He was way better at UK shooting than he was in the pros after they jacked his form up. Reminds of weird golf swings like Jim Fuyrk. Best thing that happened to him was no coach early on changing his swing. It was weird but he always got into the proper position when hitting the ball and was a phenomenal ball striker with world class accuracy.IDK. Maybe because his jumper was more broke than an iPhone charger from $5 below. Love him to death but his jump shot wasn't serviceable to have a long NBA career.
With that being said, it looks like he made over $72 mill in career earnings so he is doing fine.
I’m not confusing anything with anything. You’re confusing a mildly humorous situation you were too thick to notice and your own compulsion to be the hyperbole police with being a halfway decent guy.I recall nothing of the sort. Maybe you’re confusing him with Archie Goodwin the next season. Now that guy was a charge machine.
Icgaf what you remember. You’re the one clearly living in a fantasy land and also thinking it’s your business to berate other posters any time they make a quip you may not be sharp enough to appreciate.I have no idea what you’re talking about, but I certainly don’t remember MKG being called for an inordinate amount of charges. That sounds like a Webb Wilder songMy father used to say he "was a human bowling ball"![]()
Bad at shooting when the league started entering the YMCA rec ball approach. I don’t think it’s accurate to say he had no skills. He was very skilled, just couldn’t figure out the jumper.
Love MKG game but why couldn't he stay on a roster. I thought he would be a NBA star.
I wouldn’t call him a bust, yeah he didn’t have the career many envisioned but he was solid for 7-8 years. Longer than average just not number 2 level. He had a few injuries and I really believe Price totally broke his jumper. He showed major promise early on.It’s almost like …because he was a bust in the NBA …posters are are now trying to make up fake flaws in his game to help explain it.
I can assure you none of these people were complaining about his dribbling skills or charges back in 2012.
You’re being a bit charitable saying he was “solid for 7-8 years.” His last couple seasons he was just barely hanging on at the end of the bench. And even the seasons when he got a lot of playing time he was generally considered disappointing (and were for awful teams).I wouldn’t call him a bust, yeah he didn’t have the career many envisioned but he was solid for 7-8 years. I can definitely see why. I definitely didn’t expect him to be out of the league by now. He’s made his cash tho. I hope he coaches here someday. You’re being a bit charitable saying he was “solid for 7-8 years.” His last couple seasons he was just barely hanging on at the end of the bench. I certainly don’t want to call him a bust, as I loved the guy, one of my favorite UK players ever. But, honestly, that is the word most would use for a No. 2 pick who washed out at the young age of 26 after being waived by multiple teams.
Is he playing overseas?’MKG probably made in the neighborhood of 100 million . If he isn't set for life...well, he blew it. Always liked him and hope he's done right for himself.
No. It doesn’t appear that he’s played anywhere since being waived by the Mavs in 2020. He was in the Knicks training camp the ensuing fall, but got cut before the season started. Is he playing overseas?’
Well if he’s made a hundred million like someone else said I’d say he’s probably set. If he hasn’t blown most of it. Hope he makes good investment’s.No. It doesn’t appear that he’s played anywhere since being waived by the Mavs in 2020. Not sure why he hasn’t gone overseas like other guys in his situation do. Maybe he figures he’s made enough and is content to hang it up.
72 million is the correct number. But, yeah, that still should be enough to happily ride off into the sunset.Well if he’s made a hundred million like someone else said I’d say he’s probably set. If he hasn’t blown most of it. Hope he makes good investment’s.
Hell I’d take just a quarter of that and be happy!72 million is the correct number. But, yeah, that still should be enough to happily ride off into the sunset.
