Best shooter at UK since Tony Delk
I think he’s an even better pure shooter than Delk.

He ain’t nearly the all around player Delk was …because Delk was awesome on BOTH offense and defense …especially his senior year when he did everything right. Whereas Milan is far more one dimensional, but at that one dimension (shooting) he looks about as gifted as anyone we’ve had here.

The cold blanket take. He was wide open a lot last night. I think that might have been Manhattan being not that good at trying to guard him. I can't imagine he'll be that open going forward. But he's the bomb! And pope has to do better job running stuff to get him open.

Was he wide open all last year when he hit nearly 50% of his 3's?

Kobe Brea might have something to say about that. I thought every shot he took was going in

Yes. I don't know if delk even shot over 40%. He was just a scoring machine overall. Much better shooters in modern times: lamb, Grady, brea all just top of my head.

Momcilovic though is the best yet imo. Shot selection is part of that but if he gets a clean look its almost guaranteed. His contested/desparation shots are the only reason he even has a chance of being below 50% which is crazy.

At Iowa State, Milan hit tons and tons of threes with defenders right in his face, step back, you name it.

If they focus heavily on him other lanes will open up, which yes, they'll have to convert to easier points.

Our perimeter is developing well. We have 2 solid players, Wilkins and Williams, and 1 absolute star, Milan. Hawthorne shows flashes, especially on defense, of being a force. Zoom needs to find his niche on this team yet. Kam and Morton still are recovering and should solidify the perimeter once healthy.

I'm most concerned about the 4 position right now.

Yup we are struggling some at the 4 right now. Hopefully we get that going with Kansas coming up.

Bingo Delk was all around great not only a pure shooter but that defense was spot on too.

Love the excitement but this is so BBN, it’s one game against a terrible team. Slow down. He should have a great year and I’m excited too but not enough to draw any conclusions.

Big Chill holds his own defensively. Rebounding better thanI watched him previously at Iowa State. I knew he would hold his own defensively, questioned his rebounding, but absolutely knew he would be a huge fan favorite hitting threes.

When he came back from the NBA draft, and we zeroed in on him, I was wanting him far more than I ever wanted anyone in recent memory. I watched Iowa state pretty closely, and especially Momcilovic. I thought last year watching him several times how awesome it owuld be to get him out of the portal.

Maybe I didn't gush over the top for him, but I tell ya' I know he is a sure fire shot. Seen it for years.

I will not be surprised to see him break Jody Meeks 3 point record. I sure hope so. If he does, we are going to be extremely hard to beat this year.

Win every home game without exception, we got a great shot for actually bringing home some hardware, a high seed, and a deep run.

We're up by 45 by the time Zyon and Reece check in if last night we got anything from the 4, be it through point generation or defensive stubborness.

If N'Diaye doesn't pan out, we might see more minutes at the 4 for Hawthorne. He had 2 blocks and 5 rebounds in 18 minutes.

Let me remind the masses. PLEASE do not show any hope or optimism for any reason. Especially when the best shooter in CBB starts the year off with a great game. There’s some incredibly weak men on this board that it bothers a great deal.

but if you want to get “googly eyes” from the biggest troll on the board, carry on.

Thank you for pointing out recency bias as well as the projection of great performance against a cupcake into a given future of the complete season that contains many teams that will pose much more difficulty

I think we have a sufficient sample size of what Milan can do. He set records last year in a very tough conference. Takes zero projection.

Not only can he shoot but he can create and get buckets. He’s more than just a guy who camps on a spot.

Also, he’s thrown some nice passes to dudes. Not that he needs to be a big assist guy but it’s just something I’ve clocked. He has good court vision and awareness.
