Honestly, IMO, that would be the best thing for UK, if he can figure it out. I’m really down on him & not even a little happy with the current state of the program. But, Pope would stay as long as we’ll have him. I’d love to have a successful coach who actually wants to be here 20 years, with no worries about leaving for the next decent offer. Now, whether or not he can meet the standards is a whole other discussion. I’m highly skeptical, at best.
I think he could if he could change some things. But that means changing how he communicates, acts, and prepares his team. Also means hiring the right people. He hasn’t really shown he can do any of those things yet.
Not getting my hopes up until its official. We all know that we've had major problems with closing the deal the last couple/few years with big-time recruits.

KSR+ insider JQ25-26 reports that a deal is reportedly close to being finalized, with NIL numbers currently being finalized and official contracts under review.
While nothing is official yet, this is another positive development for Kentucky as the Wildcats continue to push for one of the top available players in the transfer portal.

I still think he’s UK bound as well. He’s just leveraging money now and knows where he is going, he’s just squeezing every penny out of Pope before he signs. That’s all that happening.
