When will the Big hand out suspensions for the Wisconsin incident obviously Howard/ Diabate and there was one other Mich player throwing punches and maybe a Wisconsin player; if there are no suspensions this would be beyond a joke

Let them review footage from multiple angles and get it right when they hand out suspensions. There were probably things going on in the initial scrum that we did not see from the one widely circulated video that may warrant suspension as well.

Both teams play Wed. Suspensions will issued today or tomorrow.
Today, IMO. The actions are on tape and shouldn't take long to dissect, although interviews of the combatants are usually helpful too, so that could take some or much of today (if it didn't occur yesterday), so tomorrow is also possible, but tomorrow would be the latest. I expect fairly harsh penalites, including Howard possibly being canned and the players suspended for the rest of the regular season, at least.

I agree with your assessment but doubt coaches or players will be suspended for the remainder of the season.

Clueless, no one is getting fired and the fight if it can even be called was pretty weak and over in 15 seconds. Most of the players involved will get a one game suspension.

Anyone thinking Howard isn’t at risk of being fired should Google ”Woody Hayes”.

In the nj.com article it seems that the UM Dean is contrite and will likely take actions ahead of Wednesday’s game, if the BiG doesn’t.

Howard will only get fired if UM wants a convenient way to let him go. Otherwise, the appropriate penalty is anywhere from 3 games to rest of regular season.
Diabete should get 2 games. Other guy(Williams?) will get one.

Call me skeptical that UM handles this internally.

Wasn't it last season that Zavier Simpson was pulled over for DUI. Then lied to police about driving a crashed vehicle and gave the police a fake name? I believe UM played us next game and Simpson started.

B1G needs to act on this, not UM.

It's an embarrassment to the University of Michigan that they have not announced that Howard is suspended while the matter is investigated. They should not allow him to have contact with the team during the time it takes them to figure out what to do with him. During his press conference he rationalized why he did it instead of apologizing for his actions.

Howard was right.

He called out the coach for not showing sportsmanship.

The coach that has to get suspended for the entire season for instigating the whole thing is the Wisconsin coach.

Hope BIG does the right thing and sends a message to all coaches who don't follow the common sense rules of sportsmanship.

Howard stood his ground and in this country you are innocent for standing your ground.

Howard should just get a soft warning.

I think on the list off common sense rules of sportsmanship, not hitting an opposing coach is ahead of not calling a time out when the game is decided and your bench players are in.

Not true. The game was essentailly over yet Michigan was still full court pressing .Wisconsin called a time out because they had all substitutes on the court and only had four seconds to get the ball past half court. It w as a change reaction by both coaches that caused the altercation.

If Howard is playing his guys to the final whistle, Gard has every right to, too.

If Howard had hit Gard he could claim retaliation for Gard grabbing at his shirt, but he hit an assistant instead.

Howard wasn't right at all.

Michigan ad said they will look into this more “thoroughly “. What a crock of bs . Any thorough investigation will have to involve taking statements from both sides. They won’t do that.
That Michigan has not announced a suspension yet is unfathomable. Howard should have no place working in education.

The Mich player suspensions especially Diabate (he can be a brutal match-up for us) are most important for R game. Of course if the players are out certainly the school/league will have to suspend Howard too.

Pressing down by 15 with seconds left <> sportsmanship,
Actions that lead to this

pressing down 15 with less than a minute
Calling a timeout with 15 seconds left
Howard telling and yelling at Gard about it
Gard touching his arm as he tried to explain
Howard Grabbed Gard by the shirt ( this was the first aggressive act)
Howard clearly make the first swing.
As a leader of men he can not react like this. He is paid millions of dollars to lead this team and his behavior makes Michigan look bad and this is not the first time that he is done this. His antics and behavior is soft

So many have ignored Howard grabbing Gards shirt. Hard retreated after that.

If Howard & the Michigan players that threw punches are not suspended for our game on Wednesday with Michigan there is something totally wrong with Michigan and the NCAA. It would be so unfair to Rutgers. Sportsmanship is supposed to be something of utmost importance to college sports and all sports.

Boy, I hope this is absolute sarcasm...otherwise this is the biggest WTF? post I may have ever seen.

B1G Nework mentioned this but their take was "both coaches put hands on each other", or something to that effect. Howard acted like an absolute ***, never apologized, whined/cried/and swung because the other team took a time out?? Really?? What a great lesson Dick Howard teaches to Michigan players and fans. The fact he did not try and atone for his actions speaks volumes for the kind of person he is.

This post has to be a joke right? Once Howard decided to press with fifteen seconds left; you’ve made the decision that the game is still in doubt and the other coach has every right to play the same way. Howard was wrong at least four times.
1). For pressing with fifteen seconds left down 15
2). For getting pissed at Gard for calling timeout in reaction to it
3) For getting in Gards face about it
4). For slapping their assistant coach
5). For not apologizing for any of it
