If Howard & the Michigan players that threw punches are not suspended for our game on Wednesday with Michigan there is something totally wrong with Michigan and the NCAA. It would be so unfair to Rutgers. Sportsmanship is supposed to be something of utmost importance to college sports and all sports.

Bobby Hurley was fined $20k and suspended for a game for yelling at an official last month. Took a couple of days for this punishment to be handed down. Howard will absolutely get a large fine and multi game suspension either today or tomorrow. On top of that Diabate and at least one other Michigan player were shown throwing punches and will also face multi game suspensions. Looks like one or two Wisconsin players will also miss their game against Rutgers.

No need to worry this will all happen before Wednesday.

Uh oh...if that's the case we know Michigan and the B1G will pull something so the players and even Howard will all be available for our game Weds. There will be a suspension announced later today, with an appeal, and then an agreement to delay any decisions until the appeal process is completed in at least a week if not weeks. Watch.

I posted it in the other thread,

Scenario #1
Chucky hits 3 at 48.6, no TO, no bench.
Michigan hits 2FTs 0:32, Wisconsin up 17
Wisconsin takes a shot clock violation
Michigan runs out 2 seconds
Does any of what happens after the game happen?
I am 100% sure nothing happens after this game.

Actual, Gard calls 2nd to last time out 48.6, Bench in
0;32 Michigan hits 2 FTs, down 17
Howard presses
0:22 Devante Jones steal and layup, down 15
0:15 last Wisc TO
Foul by Jace Howard, his son,
0:13 Jordan Davis 1 of 2 FTs, up 16
0:01 Jace Howard O.Reb and put back, Up 14.

Game ends when all of this could have been easily avoided in 2 possessions instead of 6-7 possessions by keeping your guys out there for 2 plays. Gard has a part in all that transpired, not a huge fan of Juwan Howard either, but Gard is not innocent. He has them beat up 19, 48.6 left, let the game end in 2 plays.

Howard was right.

He called out the coach for not showing sportsmanship.

The coach that has to get suspended for the entire season for instigating the whole thing is the Wisconsin coach.

Hope BIG does the right thing and sends a message to all coaches who don't follow the common sense rules of sportsmanship.

Howard stood his ground and in this country you are innocent for standing your ground.

Howard should just get a soft warning.
We have a strong new nominee for dumbest post of the year...

Call me skeptical that UM handles this internally.

Wasn't it last season that Zavier Simpson was pulled over for DUI. Then lied to police about driving a crashed vehicle and gave the police a fake name? I believe UM played us next game and Simpson started.

B1G needs to act on this, not UM.
Simpson was suspended for that. One game, same as Jacob Young got.

You really have to struggle to make this complicated. It isn't. The basics are easy. You threw a punch, you're suspended. You're a coach and threw a punch, you're at least suspended. Simple. The only difficult area is length of suspension and, with the coach, whether to terminate.
Absolutely correct. If any of us threw a punch at our place of employment we would be terminated.

Howard should get fired. He’s supposed to be a coach and an educator . This is not the first time he pulled this crap. The most realistic suspension should be the rest of the season . Take some time off and anger management bs classes and see you in November. But I don’t think that happens either . I would be shocked if he’s not coaching in the big ten tournament
Gard should get 2 games. The assistant coach jawing and the guy doing the crotch shake is not acceptable . Gard is the head coach and he’s responsible for his bench

That angle is going to get potentially a few Wisky players suspended. Around the 0:25 second mark you see several WIsky players shoving UM players into the seats behind them and then I think that's where the punches started flying from the UM side defending themselves. So there's a cause/effect that wasn't captured in the original footage that was circulating.

Unfortunately we can't identify what the one Wisky assistant was saying that led to Howard coming forward and slapping him. That's the missing piece to this whole mess because Howard was behind one maybe two people before that UW assistant starting saying anything.

It's sad when the adults can't control themselves and set the right example even in the heat of the moment.

Hoping for lots of suspensions announced tomorrow night on both sides

No idea if true. Heard someone else was involved with that episode. A daughter of a very very famous person who used to live on Pennsylvania Avenue.

Has to be two games on Wisky players to miss our game as they also play Wednesday night.
I hadn't even considered that if any Wisconsin personnel get a two game suspension, that impacts us as well. Unlikely but not out of the question.

A couple of Wisky players could be suspended as a video posted on the pay side shows several shoving UM players into seats behind them causing some to fall and that is potentially when UM started throwing punches. So the cause / effect could alter who gets how many games. But the adults should have acted more maturely in the first place and not let it get to that point.

Agree. But an 18-23 year old scholarship college basketball player shouldnact like an adult in this situation. If kids in youth and high school leagues can do it , so can these kids.

Woody hit a player. Howard should be suspended the rest of the year.

I’m not suggesting that he will be fired, but he’s certainly at risk to be.

A lot of people on these boards and in other places are making a distinction between hitting a player versus hitting a coach. Hitting a fan, cheerleader, ref, B1G official, food vendor, player or opposing coach are all the same in my eyes. He’d probably get fired for smacking any or all of the others. Why is an opposing coach an acceptable target?

Exactly. All the other sophistry and attempts to spread the blame like peanut butter amount to an acceptance that on some level there is a justification to hit someone in a game. There is not. Any such arguments are not only irrelevant but dangerous

If a coach hitting another coach isn't a fireable offense, what does it take to get fired?
