That's 2 shots and the ball you dingus. You can't foul off ball under 2 mins otherwise every team would be grabbing the worst free throw shooter on the court regardless if he had the ball or not.

Is he trying to hurt cliff? No. But he is definitely giving extra contact to cause problems. Don't feed me that BS that he was trying to "send him to the line"
And that’s why refs don’t call it. But that’s what he was trying to do. He was most certainly not ‘trying to cause problems’ whatever that means. That’s ridiculous.

He was trying to foul to extend the game.

I don't think you understand the rules of basketball. If you foul off ball intentionally Rutgers would get 2 shots and the ball. There is no benefit if you are trying to come back or "extend" the game to do that.

Honestly, it sounds like you have never played the game before hence why you don't understand what Dickinson was doing was childish, immature, and the signs of a sore loser. Classic dish it but can't take it type of guy.

There was a good debate on Reddit about this. The crux of the argument was whether Juwan Howard is a good game day coach and despite getting some very highly ranked players that there are huge holes in the roster. Also of note is that JH had his best season his first year with beileins players and have regressed every year since JW took over. it was a pretty interesting discussion. BTW the rest of the BIG seems to be happy we beat them.
Haha it’s a great argument to have. I just don’t think JW is that skilled to be an in game coach at all. I’m sure we’ll find out he throws basketballs at his players in practice in the future years haha

Oh, I understand your homer nonsense alright. And the rules too. Of course it was intentional just like all end-game fouls to send a team to the FT line are. But that’s not how those are officiated. Never.

That’s only called when someone is obviously grabbed to stop a fast break easy score.

So tell me this then smartass. Why doesn’t ever team just grab the center at the end of games instead of always fouling the ball handler? Hmmm 🤔

could it be that there is a rule in place that dead hall fouls result in 2 shots and the ball with under 2mins?

I've heard visiting players and coaches say that the fans at the RAC are closer to the floor than at most Big Ten arenas
no way the student section is. as discussed it got moved back when they put in the new bleachers and now too far back.

Maybe you should table your opinions when all you have to go off is a 15 second video. Many of us saw what Michigan was doing and how much that team talked all night.

I never disputed that words were being exchanged.

you cant really see anything definitive in the video (or watching it on TV) thus, I indicated that if you were there and observed it I would "defer to you."

you subsequently confirmed you were there so I'll take your word for it, as I said I would.

thus, there is absolutely no reason for you to be a dick.

yet you choose to be.

thats on you.

Again, it’s disappointing you can’t understand the difference between the actual rules and the way games are officiated.

The play I referenced was clear. Dickinson tried to foul to extend the game. Whether the refs just missed it in this one case or just weren’t going to call it, it doesn’t matter. You will never see end-game intentional fouls called as such.

Howard’s only in his third year . His best year was his second season. Two points away from the final 4 .
Its possible I got some of the arguments wrong as far as the timeline is concerned. But the conversation was interesting. The Net net of it was that Howard is still unproven as a head coach and it seems Michigan is regressing and not just against Rutgers either. I think someone said this is Michigans worst start under Howards coaching. I get it, its just fan conversation on an internet forum but we will see how the Howard and Pike eras pan out. My money is on Pike!

Is that how Mag got hurt?
Mag got hurt in the same possession that Reiber got knocked down on while guarding Dickinson down low. The events that led to Mag getting hurt started with about 9:40 left in the first half, and ended with Mag getting hit in the face by what looked to be the head (but could've been an elbow) of Kobe Bufkin as Bufkin drove in from beyond the 3 point line, at the 9:26 mark. Mag had moved out from down low to try to block Bufkin's drive (Bufkin wasn't his man), and got hit head-on in the chest and face, and also got called for the blocking foul.... It wasn't a dirty play.. In fact, it looked similar to the way Mag initially lost his teeth at Prolific Prep 2 years ago... (Trying to draw a charge or cut off a lane, and the dribbler crashes into him head-on...)

why'd you stop digging out of your deepening hole ?

did you realize the 'last 2 minutes' (aka NBA Hack a Shaq rule) you were so eager to cite isn't even a college rule ?

Or did you finally realize that rules and officiating aren't the same thing ?

Or both ?

Face it, you were wrong about the rule and what actually happened. Look before you leap.

Howard whined all game. He is moving into Fran McCaffery territory.
The camera was sure on him a lot, doing just that. Seems like after each call that went against Michigan, the camera showed Howard talking to a ref. Don't recall seeing the camera show Pike yapping to the refs.

1. I realized you are one of the trolls that is constantly critical of Geo. There is no point with people like you. Rocks for brains.
2. Please find me a situation like that were a flagrant wasn’t called. Let’s say that is a 3 point game and Dickinson grabs Cliff at half court. Or good for is a FT shooter like Myles Johnson? Why does that not happen on literally every college game? Because it warrants a flagrant.
3. Touch Grass. You live online way too much. It’s not real life.

And here’s a freeze frame of the cheap and dirty screen with a few seconds left.

Good post of video and screen shot. In less than 3 seconds McConnel is poked in the face by Houstan and pushed from behind (not a screen) by Dickinson. Both with a ref looking at it from 10 ft away. They were being sore losers at that point, the game was over.

Deflect much imaginary rule guy ? What does your version of basketball rules say about penalty shots and icing ? Wait, I’m watching the Nets game now and the refs missed an obvious offsides call on Kyrie !!

Again, do your research. Don’t make sh*t up. I think the offense stagnates too much with Geo but that’s a Pike issue more than a Geo issue. But overall I’ve said Pike does a good job. I don’t dislike Geo.

It’s Myles Johnson who I criticized endlessly. So glad he’s gone. Unpopular view last year but I think most would agree now the team is better with Cliff starting and also better off in the long run. No need to apologize to me though.

So, if you are going to try to poke me, at least get your facts straight Pinocchio.

Geeze that is all kinds of wrong. Platooning Cliff and Myles like last year would have been fantastic this year. In the long run if it was a choice of Myles for 1 more year or Cliff for 3 it is no contest.. you go with Cliff.. but I think Myles and Cliff would have both gotten better than they are if they both stayed. I would think Myles would be jamming more seeing Cliff do that and Cliff would have better footwork/choices on D seeing what Myles does... that said.. I did see Myles be a rim protector on at least one play last night... liked that... that's a new wrinkle in his D...

I’d say that this team would be better with Myles as a backup with much less minutes. But I dont think that would have been a possibility. Myles would have likely started and get the lions share of PT with Cliff again the limited reserve.

So when i say that i am glad that Myles is gone it’s based on the projection that Cliff wouldnt play or develop enough as Myles’ backup. Cliff is better already and his upside is 10 ‘myles’ higher.

instead i prefer the alternative that Cliff plays a lot more than he would have with Myles here, even though we dont havea solid backup 5. As the Purdue and Michigan games showed, we can get by without a decent backup.

when I look at this what I see is Dingle-Berry all the way down on the baseline going off for who knows what while I see a bunch of folks looking at what's going on where the two teams are meeting. I see Harper and #22 (?) getting close and at that point (to me) Howard tells his team to just go back to locker room and he greets some RU players (Harper and Geo). Avoiding a bad potential scene. If that's the case good move and much to do about nothing.

Now what Mr. Dingle_berry was all upset about and doing..who the heck knows.

Can we have a thumbs down option on this site please? You get enough of them...you get a timeout from posting.

Would love to have some of you in foxhole with me.

I can't believe some of you are justifying for Michigan that the RU players deserved it....SMFH
