This is the game where we will have a real look at a better B1G team, and how the Huskers perform.

I think we lose. I'm more curious about how we compete in the game. This and the Ohio State game are the only games that I've watched that I didn't think the Huskers could win. I'm not sure about that. The O-State team is clearly dominant. The rest can be beaten.

We will learn alot from this game, win or lose. The difference from the recent past; this Husker team will be better at the end of the year.

I think we lose to Michigan, Ohio State and Wisconsin, then win the rest. What do you think?

Iowa sucks

All precedent says we win 5 games...the inexperience we have at qb is pretty unprecedented, the confidence of our kids to beat great teams is non-existent, and our talent level is still at an all time low. The only counter to this is the possibility that Frost and his staff are that good that they can carry a true freshman, an average team, with average talent, to be able to beat teams with more talent, veteran qbs, and on the road.

I diseregard your post as a complete fallacy. Nebraska was 21 point better team than Colorado as far as talent. Most teams in the west recruit anywhere from 40-70. Sell your idiocy somewhere else. I know what I've seen. What team in the west is clearly more talented than the Huskers.

Sell your garbage to morons. The Huskers have the ability to battle each team except Ohio State. What team are you a fan of?

Well? @ Lincoln 100 and @Solana Beach Husker , I welcome you both back.

We haven't even played a team,I would consider good. The rest of our schedule is navigable . I don't know if you watched Michigan St., but I have PayPal.
I thought the downfall would take longer. I have a cool job as a civilian. Lots of time. Let's party.

Michigan's defense did their job against Notre Dame, but they haven't figured out how to slow down running QBs. Brandon Wimbush, JT Barrett, McSorley, and eventually Haskins are proof.

They have had solid defensive performances against pro-style offenses, but their LBs must be too slow to get to the edge.

Though they smoked a directional school last week, Harbaugh will have a lot to prove and so will we. I would bet the line for Nebraska/Michigan is UM by 8.5 right now. Don't forget that it's a 12PM game. If this was a night game it would be 11.5. But make no mistake, Harbaugh is going to want to welcome Scott to the Big Ten in some way. It will be a very tough game to win, but I think Scott will pull that punch and give it back to him enough that they won't look forward to 2019 in Lincoln.

I agree. I'm just surprised his offense is so bad. I think Harbaugh's passing game will get better, but they will lose against the O. You never know though. Some people have us losing against everyone in the west.

My 2 cents, regarding Michigan, is that I don’t know what to expect. Too much of the time I am disappointed, to the extent that I am gun shy about making a prediction.

What I will say is we will play hard no matter the outcome, and that will pay off at some point this year...

I guess, @Lincoln 100andl
Red Scowl, I think lincoln100 was referencing solana husker... his post was 10 minutes after solana’s... I don’t think he was addressing you at all.

I believe Solana Beach is not a fan. The other, I will judge and agree with when I'm more sober.

@Solana Beach Husker , tell me why you are a fan. Tell me where you lived your freshman year. My Aunt works for the HR. How old are you Solana Beach? I never heard of a Solana Beach. Is it near San Diego.

I live in Grand Island, Nebraska, I believe you have found a situation that your mother never taught you about.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say you’ve never played organized sports before which makes it even more funny you act like you’re present in the Huskers locker room lmao

And solana never seems to respond. He takes dumps in multiple threads and leaves them there. I would be surprised if you got a response from him.

I think he is full of inconsistencies. Take a stand for what you believe, or bend your knees. Go away Solana Beach or I will.. I have a bunch of crypto friends. Your IP is abnormal. What are you about?

but the puffs may not be very good. Won't know that for several games, but we will know how good NU is by then, but the 2017 records of NU and the puffs has to be considered, realistically at this point.

only time will really tell, I hope you are correct as I definitely feel better with wins

I think the puffs are better than I had originally thought - and NU was still the better team IMO.

If Martinez was 100% I would still pick the Huskers to upset Michigan. Now, I'm not so sure.

Hard to say. I like to think we will move the ball agianst anyone and stay in the game, but that is a tough D in a tough environment.

I already look forward to 2019 in Lincoln. Devin Bush is probably the fastest LB in college and a future high pick in the pros as well as our DE's Gary and Winovich.

This is Don Brown's fastest defense (his words) ever. It is built to stop spread offenses. Brown spied Winbush in the 2nd half and shut him down completely. We look forward to welcoming your 18 year old freshmen playing in front of 110,000 fans. Scott Frost is no longer playing QB at Nebraska.

Nebraska will do well to keep the score within 17 points. I don't see Suh playing on that defense.

ND threw 4 long 50/50 balls caught by 6'5" receivers at ND. How many 6'5" receivers does Nebraska have? What is the score if Nebraska starts at ND?

I don't have a good read on Michigan so far. I saw the ND/Michigan game and a few points:

- ND was able to gash some very big holes in Michigan's D due to some poor gap control up front and safeties getting pulled out of the plays.
- On offense they were mediocre. I didn't get a sense of an identity anywhere from their O.
- On both sides of the line they looked soft

It wasn't that ND was so good to beat them, it was that, to me, ND was pretty average and they still lost (look at the Ball State game ND played the following week - they needed a couple of interceptions to win that one). They could show a big jump in these early weeks, but I don't think this is a typical "Michigan" B10 team.

Well, this is an interesting thread. Some thoughts.

Haskins is a passer, not a runner. The Michigan D is very good, try to explain it any way you want but they will come and lay the wood.

Nebraska did not beat CU which many believe is a mid-Pac 12 team. We had a ton of yards but also had the long field to go on most every drive. We turned the ball over, they did not. Not every team is going to give up as many rushing yards as CU did the first half. It should be noted, they limited our rushing game with adjustments. CU is not Michigan from a talent level.

I asked this question in a different thread. Would the UCF team of last year beat CU rhis year? It is an interesting thought to ponder.

So far, this team has proven very little aside from a passion to play hard. They have not overwhelmed anyone, dominated no one, and had the opportunity to dominate a game. Until you see some of that happening, how could we even be expected to play with the big boys of OSU, Michigan and Wisconsin?

We have fans that go around thumping their chests and talking **** on other teams' boards as well.

I've found that, almost without exception, they're the very bottom of the barrel as far as fans go. The kind that get drunk in the cheap seats at the game and look to start fights with someone wearing the other teams' jersey.

Every fanbase has these tools.

Where was Shay the savior against a team with a pulse? I'll wait.

He passed for 227 yards against ND so I guess that is showing a pulse. Most fans look at 8-5 for Michigan last year and think it is the same team.

None of the 3 QB's that played last year are on the team. After the 3rd game Michigan was down to the 2nd and 3rd string QB's last year.

What is Nebraska's record this year if your freshmen QB misses the last 9 games this year?

Probably around 5-7 or 6-6. We are in year one, not year 4 still answering all of the same questions. I actually like Harbaugh, but I find it comical that you come over here and beat your chest like something has changed. Once you beat MSU and OSU then maybe you can run your mouth. The fact is, you laid an egg vs. ND and couldn't run the ball.
