If he has something on Duke he better be telling the truth but I am like Bkocats I will just wait and see. I would love for this to drag out a while and hurt Duke in recruiting.
If he takes down start a go fund me to pay his fine and legal cost.
We all know Adidas had the goods on Zion! The judge just wouldn’t let it to be discussed!Yeah but, he said the same thing about Kavanaugh, Daniels, etc.. And we know now it was all lies. Hard to know where the BS stops and truth starts with this guy. I want to believe him...oh, how I want to. But, because of his record I just can't get there. Yet.
As you say morgousky, "just deliver".
Even if they’ve got the goods on them!!Does anyone think the NCAA will do anything?I'd love to see the holier than thou Duke and Ratface have the ncaa move in to their admissions office. But Avenatti is not exactly the most reputable guy.
Lmao it worked out great for Stormy! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::joy:

*too+this poor old SOB going to be taken out in the desert and buried or some car accident going to happen. Don't think I would want to piss off to many at NIKE

Uh, the Stormy stuff has pretty much been proven true and now it is payments didn't come from campaign funds rather than denial of a payment. If the pictures of them together and detailed descriptions didn't make you understand then no hope for you. So, given that, I think he is being factual on Nike. Yes, he is out for himself and is the typical attorney but that doesn't mean he doesn't know what others knew regarding Zion for example. I think though this all will be swept away with no serious investigation. Oh wait a minute, I just remembered Duke is investigating themselves (lol).
He says he doesn’t make false claims, that he’s got proof Zion was on the take and we will all see it.
This is excellent.
I believe you Michael Avenatti. All will be forgiven. Just deliver.
Just asking is your coach clean and his staff. He does have a big black mark from the pastIf he has evidence, it will never be seen by the public. Duke will never be exposed
The info he provided so far is pretty specific. iirc his client is an ex Nike employee.
Also consider Nike had him arrested by the feds 5 days after he made the initial threat. That's moving at light speed. No way they pull those strings on a case they can easily ignore/deny.
He asked for 20 million. That tells you he knows he has the goods. Otherwise an experienced scumbag like him knows to ask for way less.
Plus Nike hasn't denied anything he said, despite more than ample opportunity.
Finally even with the trump situation - he had the dirt correct. How he used it was the problem. But he was factually correct. There was an affair and trump did pay.
Given all that, I'm fairly certain he's telling the truth.
Yeah, just like Katina Powell. One of the best things to ever happen to Duke is this clown going after them. Saying he has zero credibility is an understatement.
I believe Duke is absolutely dirty but this guy is just not the right guy to go after them. Mark it down, he will make a jackass out of himself in this.
People want to slam the guy like he’s less trustworthy than anyone else. I mean nike? The ncaa? Duke? They are more trustworthy?
For all those who say he can’t be trusted. Your president is a dedicated liar and everyone here has no issues believing what comes out of his mouth.
For all those who haven’t followed him he has delivered documents and promises to release more.
You make some good points,I would add that choir boys and preachers make terrible informants. If you are in a position to have real dirt on anyone you have to have enough on yourself as to not attract attention. The info he provided so far is pretty specific. iirc his client is an ex Nike employee.

It has nothing to do with whether he’s more or less trustworthy than someone else. It is based solely on his behavior specific to the Nike situation and it is Avenatti’s own actions that call his trustiworthiness in question. He is not behaving like someone who’s being honest. Whether or not Nike or the NCAA are more or less trustworthy is completely irrelevant.
And in terms of his release of documents, yes he has released documents. And they are extremely weak evidence and Avenatti contradicts himself in some of them.
Look, I’ll find it very entertaining if there’s something to this Duke thing, but I’m not going to hold my breath because Avenatti is acting like the type of person who has no business practing law.
Avenatti’s parents could have been born Transgender, and never copulated, and I would still know Duke “cheated” for Zion, and others. Just to clarify.I'm not buying it. Typically if people have actual real proof, they start with that bombshell. They don't spend weeks claiming they have proof. Plus, knowing this guy's history. There's nothing here, folks. Just a toddler screaming for attention .
His allegations against Duke are vague and he’s provided no evidence to support them.
If he has evidence, it will never be seen by the public. Duke will never be exposed
He said Nike paid his mom for consulting services. Even told the years. That's pretty specific in my book
Does anybody really believe Nike is innocent in all this? It is a competition. Nike does their fair share and there is little doubt they are guilty of criminal acts just like Adidas. Mr. Avenatti may be a liar and a cheat but somehow I suspect there is more than a glimmer of truth in what he says.
I have no clue what specifically Nike may or may not be doing.
What I do know is this. Nearly 70% of power 5 schools wear Nike and Nike’s share of the basketball market is near 80%. Adidas is the little guy in this situation and trying to take share from Nike.
Given that, is it that unreasonable to assume that maybe Adidas had to resort to more extreme tactics than Nike?
If you’re referring to his tweets, that’s not at all what he said. He merely stated that someone should search Nike’s vendor portal for any entries related to Zion’s mom since 2016.
First, that’s not specific at all. Specific would be to make allegations like he did for Ayton where he specified the exact dollar amounts, date of transaction, method of transferring money from Nike to end recipient, etc. He’s provided nothing of that sort for the broader allegations.
Second, his statements about Zion aren’t even true allegations. They’re insinuations. He’s merely hinting at something without saying anything specific. There are likely two reasons for this.
- He’s knows a large portion of the public is unable to think and can’t understand the important distinction. So he can hint at it and then people will be off and running thinking it’s an allegation.
- North Carolina has a very broad per se definition of libel. Any false statements that are considered libel per se are taken to be defamatory without the need to prove any actual harm. By vaguely hinting at improprieties, it affords Avenatti some extra protection against a defamation lawsuit. This is a major red flag that should give people pause before believing him.
How are you so positive he does not have actual proof? My guess is that he’s heard stories from the AAU coach about how it all went down. As far as actual proof that would hold up in a court of law, he has none. He was hoping that by just throwing some info at Nike about things that maybe they really did then they would believe he actually had the goods and would pay him to shut up. But I also think that Nike was a lot smarter about how they conducted their underhanded business than Adidas was. They probably put them on the payroll for the consulting jobs as Avenatti has said but it’ll be impossible to prove that they didn’t really perform services for money paid. Hell I could pay Joe Blow a cool mil for asking him where the nearest restroom is. He consulted me. That’s kinda legit. I really think Nike had these folks on the payroll as opposed to just handing out bags of cash.
Insert “her” for “guy” and you have a rick pitino quote about PowellThis. How can anybody possibly believe this guy?
He is already a jackass,One of the best things to ever happen to Duke is this clown going after them. Saying he has zero credibility is an understatement.

It seems likevYahoo does this EVERY time they have a “scoop”!I'm not buying it. Typically if people have actual real proof, they start with that bombshell. Yep just like when Peppers transcript was shown; and like when the receipt from the pawn shop was shown... that evidence was the nail in the coffi... oops, my badI’m not positive. I totally said it was just my guess. But my guess again is that if he had anything at all he would at least have given a teaser by now. Maybe something that shows he’s serious but doesn’t implicate anyone. Phone records maybe or some redacted payroll stubs. Just from how hard he’s trying to get this out with the tweets and stuff leads me to believe he’s bluffing. If he had anything and was serious he woulda tweeted something a little more hardcore like a payroll stub. Something that would really get Nike’s and the media’s attention and push others to investigate. Given his reputation he has to know that’s the only way people would take him seriously.
