Wiseman allowed to play tonight. when the dust settles, will he play this year or not ?
I'm bettin it'll really help him when election time rolls around though .I wondered what a judge had to do with wether he could play or not, didn’t think a county judge had that kinda power.
As I understand it when a school agrees to join the NCAA it agrees to abide by their rules. It will ultimately be their decision. The ncaa May rule him ineligible and Memphis plays him regardless. I wouldn t be surprised after lsu getting into the tourney last year. I mean basically that’s what happened today. That judge doesn’t have any jurisdiction over ncaa matters. Espn runs a ticker saying he is “allowed” to play Bc of a county court judge. Bs. He is ineligible and a county court judge don’t mean shat he played in spite of the ncaa ruling. The ncaa is going to find a way to cave have no teeth.
Yep, this is what I was thinking as well. Why risk playing him if you don't even need him to win the game? This game and the previous one will be vacated. There is no question about it in my mind. Who cares about the court order? That court has no jurisdiction over the NCAA. If the NCAA wanted to, they could go to Federal Court Monday morning and put an end to that right now. It wouldn't take long.Memphis is playing with fire. Not a smart move to play Wiseman tonight and they did not need him.
Memphis, Penny, and the AMOUNT of cash paid....They are done. And the way they handled this is stupid. They are done after 7 days. Its over. Penny is an idiot and Wiseman wont play again

Memphis didn’t file a lawsuit or seek an injunction. Wiseman did.
Wiseman’s attorney sued both the NCAA and the University of Memphis for declaring Wiseman ineligible. I’ve not read the text of the injunction itself, but the fact that Memphis is a defendant likely means that the injunction forces both the NCAA and Memphis to treat Wiseman as eligible.
I’m sure Memphis is supportive of this, but it doesn’t change the fact that technically it is Wiseman himself who is taking legal action here.
The NCAA said tonight at 8:21 PM that Memphis has the responsibility of determining his eligibility, not a judge. So, Memphis is in big trouble with the NCAA.
$11,500 to move from Nashville to Memphis? LMAO. Who wants to open up a moving business with me in Tennessee? Obviously I'm in the wrong line of work
Even if that were 100% true..... the Memphis head coach still knows he paid the $12k.Makes sense as to why Wiseman is saying he didn't know his family received $12,000 dollars. Sure he didn't. Just like Cam Newton didn't know ****. Nobody ever knows ****.

Memphis will end up vacating a lot of games when this is all over.
Penny thought he could short change the process in ways that guys like Roy Williams would have never tried.
Now his program is on fire, and it's beautiful to behold.

So Wisemans family didn’t have money to move from Nashville to Memphis. But, now they have the money to file an order 45 mins after being ruled ineligible. Seems fishy.Memphis didn’t file a lawsuit or seek an injunction. Wiseman did.

James found 11,500 dollars wadded up laying out in the street by the team bus so it’s all goodSo Wisemans family didn’t have money to move from Nashville to Memphis. But, now they have the money to file an order 45 mins after being ruled ineligible. Seems fishy.
Since when is $11,500 more than the $30,000 they said that Enes got from his team? That’s more money than Kanter received from his country and he was ineligible so we shall see
Penny, thought it was legal.
What does that have to do with Memphis playing Wiseman? The coach could have kept him out of the game. Do you think the NCAA is going to look at who filed the suit when they declared a player ineligible. Memphis can not be sued to play anybody, that is the coaches decision . Not smart.Memphis didn’t file a lawsuit or seek an injunction. Wiseman did.

Exactly. Some judges think they make the laws and regulations for private organizations. The NCAA does not answer to judges when they decide eligibility. If it was that easy Enes Kanter would have played for UK. Just fine a pro UK judge in Fayette County and go with it.Yep, this is what I was thinking as well. Ok so the question now is do we have an actual violation by Memphis instead of just against Wiseman. We know what he did but if you ask me Memphis knowingly ignored and NCAA ruling and played an ineligible player. Can there be additional sanctions against them beyond just ruling Wiseman ineligible?Yep, this is what I was thinking as well. Why risk playing him if you don't even need him to win the game? Probably a good chance Wiseman would have eventually been able to played this year, if he’d just sat out this game or a few upcoming games until Memphis and NCAA comes to some decision. But to just throw the FU NCAA he’s playing (which they didn’t need James to win) probably wasn’t the smartest thing to do.
The NCAA already came to a decision. The kid is ineligible. The kid got a lawyer. Memphis said they are going to keep playing him. So the NCAA can either stand by their word, or we can all just cancel the NCAA and play by our own rules at this point.
I was under the impression that UM and NCAA were in works to get him eligible, but Wiseman took it to a judge to decide so he could just play. And since UM’s decision not to hold Wiseman out screws the pooch with NCAA...
