McBride is better than Jelavic and Ousman better than MoD yes. That was the 4 position last year and Morton isn’t coming to start he’s the 8/9 man playing backup guard, he replaces JJ in last years rotation. So yes, clear and definite upgrades. No way to spin it that it’s not.
They’re keeping him down, the man, telling y'all now, he’s a sleeper, literally.

You would think so. But, if he misses on Stokes the McBride announcement will just piss off ppl more than anything else, IMO. They should 100% realize that. But, I sense great tone deafness in this regime & wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if they think McBride will appease the fans after another big swing & miss.
For real, this guy sleeping at midcourse during an SEC game would have the same impact of him playing. Maybe the opposing PG would trip over him and turn the ball over, that's a net positive.
This roster feels like a late Tubby years roster to me. I hope you are right and they are much better because I just don’t see it yet.

It would be a huge PR blunder to announce this commitment if Stokes goes elsewhere. This guy will be both ignored and or ridiculed. I believe this is a positive for Stokes.

Yes, but nobody cares that we got him IF it means no Stokes. The point is that the staff would be dumb as bricks to think this would somehow cause less pain from a Stokes whiff.
It’s worse than that. It would be pointing all that frustration at this kid instead of at Pope. It would be an amazingly bad PR move. Our athletic department is poorly run though so it wouldn’t surprise me.

I would hope people wouldn't take it out on a guy like Mcbride who really wanted to come here. Not his fault.
