I've always said if I had a smartphone when I was 18 there would be some stuff out there (about me) I would NOT want on the internet. He made a mistake - I'm not going to judge if what he did was right or wrong.
If he IS in Lincoln (like it's being reported), it's interesting to me - He's an ex-4 star that had offers from Ohio State, LSU and Clemson - I'm not ready to call him a bust.

He was an elite talent with a desire to be really self destructive.

The last couple years there has been real uncertainty out of the running backs room - I'm never sure if that's lack of talent, lack of offensive line or lack of an offensive plan. Or maybe all 3.
Washington's trouble with the TEAM wasn't directly related to his smartphone. He just didn't behave like a team player for team activities. His smartphone got him in trouble with California, not the Husker football team.
It's a shame that he wasted his physical talents, could have had a very successful career IMO. But he made his own choices in the end after having been given several chances. That's life.
That would make alot of sense. Don't remember exactly what he plead to, but those are pretty common conditions. That being said, there are ways of getting probation transferred and conditions amended if you do it the right way, but he may not care about football enough to try that.

The way I remember reading it is that Nebraska didn't know about the incident until he was already in Lincoln.
I do believe in second chances (and thirds) ...I try not to throw stones because I've done plenty in my life that I'm not proud of.
But from what others have said on the board, maybe MW doesn't want the second chance (and maybe it's not being offered)
He had his multiple chances. Second chance sailed several years ago. All he had to do was follow a few simple rules, and he would have been a star. Weed was not what did him in. I suspect many players partake. It was his refusal to be a part of the group/team that was his undoing.
He is not wanted back to NU.
