I thought Nebraska pulled offers from kids that were not yet qualified. Only half serious
I only know what I read in one of the papers. And that was that there was still a question about his qualifying. So I don't know Tuco. I had read somewhere too that this staff wasn't going to take a shot at kids who were an academic risk. So who knows?
I think that was the reason the staff visited his school and pushed his visit back.
That being said we still heard he hasn't qualified but obviously he has to be damn close other wise what Tuco said wouldn't add up.
I suspect he's close and that he has to just take care of business this last semester. Can we provide tutors now that he's signed?
I would sure hope there is something we can do to get or keep him qualified. This is what I was talking about when I said that I hope he gets all the support he needs.
If Frost is high on this kid- Im glad we got him. HCSF has been spot on in discerning talent in his previous gigs. Finding gems RB is a place weve seen a lot of really hyped guys (collins, green, lucky, evans) get passed up by not so hyped guys (Helu, Abdullah) .
HOWEVER- Deon has had some very shady dealings in his past and some of these private school grade things can go a little bit sideways. I wouldnt be 100% sure he's in until he is attending classes.
Yes- he did great in the all- star game- Deon was the HC and he featured him- no other kid gets that kind of treatment. But in the recruiting ranking guys defense- the league he played for in Texas is very very weak.

Is he missing the GPA, core classes or test score?
I thought this was his first year at this private school. They are likely working to get things in order for him. There are lots of ways to get a GPA and core classes taken care of, especially where he lives. The test score is another story, Regardless, it really boils down to him. Schools know what it takes, there are no secrets, kids have to put in the work.
