This reminds me of a time our CEO drove his yellow Ferrari to the office on a Friday that we laid off 250 people from our corporate office. Nobody cared that he had a yellow Ferrari. It was publicly known that the guy made millions. Good for him.
But, maybe, I don't know, on that particular day, drive one of your (many) lower profile cheaper vehicles to park in your assigned parking spot right out in front of the office that all 250 people had to walk right by on their way toward unemployment.
Bad optics. Tone deaf. Just not a good look.
And yeah, that guy ended up getting fired as he took the company into bankruptcy.
